Apr. 10th, 2024 08:22 amI'm off to see Believe Tour starring Graz from Strictly tonight, and I'm looking forward to it so much! The only thing that worries me is James doesn't finish work until six, and the show starts at 7:30. While it's perfectly possible to get from Newcastle to Sunderland in that time, picking me up en route, the parking could be an issue as the venue is right next-door to the Empire theatre, and neither have their own dedicated parking areas. Plus, a row of disabled parking bays close by were changed to taxi bays recently, which doesn't help.
But still, dancing! Graz!
Other good things, the recliner, and drawer unit are gone. In the end, I asked my brother if he could help get it outside, and he and my nephew came over and helped. Which was good as the thing was heavy, and no doubt was even more so after being sat in the heavy rain we've had recently. I wasn't sure what time the bulk waste people would be coming, so unlocked the gate before 7 this morning, and was glad I did so as I went to get ready earlier, looked outside around 7:30, and everything was gone.
Last good thing. You may remember the combat hate campaign James was part of at his work. Well, he and the rest of the people taking part have been nominated for an award. So, we're off to a black tie ball in June. It means I'll have to dig out my evening dress -- and hope it still fits, otherwise, I'll have to wear the dress I wore for Kayleigh's wedding and hope that's not too informal. And also figure out what to do shoewise, but those are worries for future me. Right now, I'm just happy that the campaign is getting some recognition.

That is so cool! I've never been to a black-tie event. I hope it's a blast.

Date: 2024-04-10 01:55 pm (UTC)It was good to get rid of the recliner, I've been sideways walking to get out of the doorway due to it taking up space for too long.
I've only ever been to one black-tie event, and that was last time James was nominated for an award. But that was ages ago now.

Date: 2024-04-10 04:29 pm (UTC)It always seems to be that show, too.
Or I guess it always feels like it's our show when we're looking forward to watching so much.

Date: 2024-04-10 04:32 pm (UTC)I'm sure the ball will be great. Bonus is it's being held at a posh spa/hotel that's literally a five minute drive away from us. So, no need to stay the night.

Date: 2024-04-17 11:21 am (UTC)True. I realised my own limitations when I tried to move the recliner out of the corner. It really was a very heavy piece of furniture. No way would I have got it outside without help.
I still need to try my dress on. It's in a cover in the wardrobe now as I've never needed to use it for years.
