Thank you [personal profile] dine for the adorable kitty themed postcard. You know what I like ♥

It was a full weekend of Bodhisitting for me this last weekend. So, on Saturday we went to Hall Hill Farm, which is a children's farm about 30 minutes drive away. We got lucky with the weather as it was a sunny spring day, so we could hang outside and walk around seeing all the animals. We got to ride the tractor ride -- well I say ride, more be thrown around on the tractor ride -- bottle fed a lamb, held rabbits and chicks, hand fed goats and sheep and Bodhi got to play on both the outside and inside playgrounds, so it was a good day.

The surprising hit was holding chicks, and we were in the chick holding barn three times. It was there where I took one of my favourite photos of the day, which is this one. James is the only male presense in Bodhi's life, and when she was younger she was a little wary of him, but that's changed so much.

Then on Sunday we had to go grocery shopping, before going to the park. Where I got to hang out in a big sandpit for ages, and go for a walk which included going over a bridge across the lake. Which sounds like nothing, but involved looking for friendly trolls, sneaking across the bridge, delighting in seeing troll footprints -- which may have belonged to a big dog, or a troll, who knows -- and taking ten minutes to get across one small bridge.

We also went on a bear hunt and Bodes had me going around many little footpaths and peering behind bushes, but I did draw the line at climbing a grassy bank to a cleared area in the trees as I suspect it would have been more a gathering place for teens than a place for a friendly bear, so goodness knows what was in there.

That day also had an eye rolling situation. It was another sunny spring day so the park was busy. For how popular the park is it only has a small carpark, with two disabled parking spots. James was lucky to get one, and came with us for a bit, and had a cup of tea at the cafe but wasn't feeling the best so went back to the car to warm up. When someone pulled up in their car and said he wasn't disabled enough to park there and needed the space for their car. Which, the hell? I could try to justify their thinking if they'd only seen him sitting in the car, but they hadn't, and even if they had, his blue badge was on display and he had every right to park there.

Related to that, James was at the doctors yesterday and he's been signed off work for a few days as he's having bad nerve pains in his leg and stump so has had his pain meds increased. No change yet but he's only had one extra dose, so fingers crossed it eases off.

Friday we went to see Back to Black, the Amy Winehouse story at the cinema and it was enjoyable. Loads left out and I suspect telling a one sided story, but it was easy watching with some good music.

So, some good, if busy at times, days.
