Jul. 17th, 2024 03:13 pmYesterday, it was the last appointment of the medical clusters we've had over the last two weeks. It was James' appointment with the hand consultant and she was such a lovely lady. X-Rays were taken, and she was testing the medical student shadowing her, but in a kind way. Good news is, James' finger joints are fine, and she's going to arrange physio to attempt to help the stiffness and add him to the self refer list if he ever has any issues with his hands.
So, that was another thing ticked off the list. Then, this morning, James got two more appointments for the lower limb orthopaedic consultants. Why two, we've no idea, but they're added to the diary. Then I got a reminder I've an appointment at the eye hospital next week. That was for the eye twitch I had last year, but it's been gone for months now, so I'm wondering if I should cancel the appointment.
It's Lucy's birthday next week, so she's gone with Kayleigh to Amsterdam for a few days. Bodhi's at her nanna's, and I'm on cat duties again, though, only until tomorrow.
The stories coming out about Graz from Strictly surprised and horrified me. I was shocked when I first saw he'd been sacked, but the more I read, the more I agreed with that decision. He had to go
At first, it was hard to take in, as Graz has never appeared anything but happy and supportive of everyone, his partner, other pros and contestants. I lurk on a few Strictly message boards and had never seen a bad post about him, and he appeared incredibly friendly at his own show and the Strictly pro show we went to, interacting with all the fans and patiently giving lots of his time.
And yet, it seems along with that friendly side he was also hitting, kicking and spitting at his last partner, Zara, when they trained. It was caught on camera, so he can't deny it happened.
Then the news reports kept coming, that he'd been warned twice and still continued to be abusive in rehearsals. Then reports saying he was going to sue the BBC for not giving enough support to him to cope with the pressure, including arranging anger management classes. And just, forget anger management, how about you just not hit, kick and spit at someone, Graz.
I used to like and respect him a lot, but there's no excuse for what he did. None. I also hate the backlash Zara is getting from some people, saying she just didn't like hard work, that it's her fault that he's been sacked. And just no, the only fault here is his.
It just shows, no matter how much we think we know people in the public eye, we never ever do. As nice as they can appear in public, behind closed doors can be very very different.
First Gio, then Graz, and now it seems a third former pro could be revealed as being abusive to his former celeb partner. My shiny show is feeling very tarnished right now.

Date: 2024-07-17 05:33 pm (UTC)I'm sorry the shiny of your show is damaged bc of such awful behavior by a participant. I hope he's bounced, and the next season can restore some of its good feeling for you

Date: 2024-07-18 01:23 pm (UTC)Graz was sacked pretty much as soon as the video was revealed and I doubt he'll ever get to work as a pro dancer in the UK again. I do hope I get some good feeling back, because this reveal blind sided me.

That's horrible behavior. How sad that he's got this side to him, too. (Speaking of never knowing, I've only just heard about Neil Gaiman a few days ago. *sigh*)

It really is horrible behaviour. I keep thinking how thrilled I was when I went to his solo show, and all the time his friendly, supportive to all image was hiding a dark side.
Sigh is right, Neil Gaiman, another one who seemingly hides a dark side. It just shows, you never can tell what a person is really like.

Date: 2024-07-21 05:30 pm (UTC)More stories have come out about how he was abusive to her in training, and there's just no need for it at all. I can't believe he fooled everyone with his friendly act, which really was hiding a dark side.
