Aug. 2nd, 2024 09:28 amI went to see Deadpool and Wolverine again yesterday, and it was just as great as the first time. In fact, I suspect for the first time since The Lord of the Rings back in the day, it'll be a three time watch at the cinema film. I just love everything about it, and still think the opening title sequence is fabulous!
I went down a rabbit hole about Dancepool earlier, and will cut for spoiler'ey videos
I had so much glee the first time I realised the titles were performed to Bye Bye Bye, and had just as much glee the second viewing. I mean, come on! And Dancepool was amazing. I was surprised to find out that it wasn't actually Ryan Reynolds doing the dance, but instead Nick Pauley, who has some moves!
I couldn't work out how to embed a short, but Nick dancing the routine out of the outfit is worth watching.
And the title sequence itself. I mean, look at Dancepool go! Look at his head bob, look at him just master BBB! And I'll warn for blood and violence here as well as spoilers for the film if you are thinking about watching.
Really, I'm just a sucker for action scenes set to upbeat songs and Deadpool and Wolverine has those in spades, it's no wonder I like it so much.
As suggested by going to the cinema, James' leg infection is much better so no IV antibiotics needed, thank goodness. He still needs to rest as much as possible and stay out of the sun until next week ( it was raining yesterday) but he's very much on the mend.
Which is why my MiL frustrated me yesterday. We got out of the cinema to six missed calls from her, and of course you think something terrible has happened. What had actually had happened was something had gone wrong with the key my SiL needs for her electric metre, and my MiL wanted James to drive to their house and take my SIL to get a replacement.
She was saying how the electric would go off at 7 and didn't seem to take in that we were in Durham at the time and couldn't magically get to Sunderland within minutes. Finally, James talked to my SiL and worked out we'd pick up a replacement key on the way home and then drive on and drop it off, and did so.
Which my SiL was thankful for, but then said she didn't have to go out and load it that evening because they had enough electric credit to last to the next day. And just, that is not what my MiL said. Though, why I was frustrated was when she kept phoning she didn't know that James wasn't answering because he was at the hospital having an IV, which was a very real possibility at one point. But, all was well in the end.
Sibs dinner went nicely on Wednesday and I managed to get a photo with me, Chris and Kayleigh -- the one I posted on Insta. They always mock complain, but after realising I had no recent photos of me with dad after he died, I always try to get photos on special occasions.
Today, Rosie is going to get her AC fixed. The garage will pick her up anytime from now, and she'll be back late afternoon, hopefully with everything fixed and working again. Which means an at home day, so I intend some online catching up, some house tidying and some gardening.
I'd say I'd feed my tomato plants, but I bought new tomato feed yesterday and someone *cough/Kevin/cough* knocked it off the table, causing the lid to smash and the feed to go everywhere.
I feel I need a Deadpool icon in my life.
