Weight management theme yesterday was snacking

It was actually one of the most interesting talks we've had. Though, James caused a big outbreak of breath when it was asked what snacks people liked, and he said crab sticks. We both thought they were a relatively healthy option, but seems not in the slightest. Which is why I like this class so much, there's always something new to find out.

The exercise part of it included lifting a 10kg grab bag, but using your legs not your back, and it doesn't sound that heavy, but man, getting the form right, and then doing it as part of three circuits was tough. Especially as it was an upper body heavy circuit, with every spot apart from one, including dumbbells, resistant bands or body weight press-ups against the stage.

I'd say I was glowing by the end, but truth was, as it's a hot, sunny day, I was more than glowing, I could have been wrung out.

I was Bodhisitting for a few hours on Friday. She's just moved rooms at nursery, going in with older children and has been very unsettled because of it, being very clingy with Lucy and Kayleigh. So, I went prepared with distractions and took a Peppa Pig cake making kit and as a back-up, a cookie making kit. And it was good that I did have that back up as while we had fun making the cakes I had a nightmare with the oven, the first time I hadn't actually switched it on properly, so when the timer went off the cakes were still raw. Tried again, left them too long, and this time they were black at the edges and bottoms. We kept going though and added the muddy puddle icing and Peppa rice stickers, and Bodhi tried her best to eat one, but yeah, they all ended in the bin. The cookies were nice though, especially when I peeled the rice stickers off the cake and put them on the cookies *g*

On Sunday, I was looking at the Too Good to Go app and saw a Company Shop dairy bag. Now, Company bags are always amazing, so getting one is rare as hens teeth, so I nabbed that baby in seconds. Picked it up at 4 and for £3 got 6 tubs of cottage cheese, 6 tubs of creme fraiche, 6 tubs of sour cream, 6 tubs of olive oil spread, 6 blocks of cheese, 6 tubs of cream cheese, 6 pots of Greek yoghurt, six blocks of curd cheese, 6 big tubs of fruit yoghurt and a random goat cheese.

We eat a lot of yoghurt, which I was hoping would be part of the surprise bag, so that will be eaten, and the cheese will last for ages, but I have no idea what to do with the sour cream as it's just not something we eat.

Pauline invited us for tea yesterday and when we got there she'd put on a small buffet, which was lovely. So we got to hang and talk and got home heading towards 7, when we could watch the season finale of House of the Dragon, and it was a good one, though it did feel more like a penultimate ep and not an end one.

Today James has an appointment at the limb centre, so we'll be heading off to Newcastle in half an hour. Tomorrow he has his spinal injections and at that point all his appointments will be over. Apart from one last one for his hip that wasn't for months, and was cancelled anyway, so he'll probably not get that until next year now.
