I got a very lovely card from [personal profile] romantical Thank you so much, both for the card and message. It's always excellent to get a note from you. ♥

A few weeks ago, I got an appointment for my first routine mammogram due to my age. On Wednesday it was that appointment

I had to be at the screening clinic at 9:17, so was there by 9 and just chilled out in the waiting room until it was my turn. As it was my first one I wasn't sure how things would work, but it was all very quick, efficient and embarrassment free, mostly due to the excellent Morag,

She was the woman who did the screening, she was kind, friendly, but so straight forward and matter of fact that I didn't even think to be embarrassed as I was manhandled. And there was a lot of manhandling going on, extreme weight loss leaves a lot of loose skin and flabby bits and at one point Morag was practically on top of me as she tucked away bingo wings and had me hold back spilling over other boobage, with instructions like, shuffle sideways, look at me, twist, hold this back, now rest your arm here and stick out your bum.

All in all it took less than ten minutes, and I was soon dressed and heading for the car, results expected in around three weeks.

After that, as it had been a beautiful day, we decided to drive to the coast and go get a coffee. It was such a lovely walk along the prom to a new to us coffee shop we keep meaning to try. We found a seat in the shade as James is back on the powerful antibiotics that mean he has to stay out of direct sun, and I had a pumpkin spice latte and enjoyed the view. Until a great big truck delivering supplies pulled up in front of us.

Yesterday, I finally got to see Corey's new place and spend the afternoon with him. I like his flat, it's the bottom one of a big house that has been split into two, meaning his front and back doors are both on the same wall, with just a few feet between.

He showed me around, and made me a cup of coffee before we went to a local Asda as we'd said that part of a moving in present would be paying for a stock up grocery shop for him and Sharna. So that got done and it was just lovely to get a hug and spend some time together.

James is feeling better in himself, but his leg is still red raw, so he's been leaving his splint off as much as possible and using his wheelchair for anything more than a very short walk. I'm glad he is feeling better, as we've got tickets to two shows at The Firestation this week, one Saturday and one Wednesday. Thankfully, it's an amazing venue access wise and we always buy aisle seats so it'll be easy for James to transfer to his seat, or even stay in his wheelchair if more comfortable.

It does mean I'll miss watching Strictly live, but that's what the series record button is for, plus, I do like to pretend I'm a grown up who leaves the house after 6pm on occasions.

Finally, thank you MWay for continuing to bring the goods photowise. For the photo of him and Frank, and also Frank and Ray. Now a little request, how about one with your bro?

it sounds like you've had several good days - I'm glad Corey's new place is good, and you could help stock it.

it's good to hear James is doing some better; hope his leg continues to improve! enjoy your shows this week - congrats on being an adult who leaves the house after 6:00 pm (can't say I do that often myself)

I'm glad your mammogram was stress-free. They're not a big deal. The place I go, they also keep the lights down very low and it's always a woman technician.

I'm glad James is feeling better and hope he continues to improve!

Excellent on straightforward and kind radiographer, it always makes these things easier. I have very little body hang ups personally, probably on account of having had a lot of medical things done to me as a kid and general indoctrination of nudity that comes from Finnish sauna culture, which somehow makes me more aware of when medical professionals are considerate about these sort of things.

Mikey is a DELIGHT (And quite, WHERE IS YOUR SWEET BROTHER MIKEYWAY?!?!).

Hurrah for Morag - it's always good when a neccessary medical thing is so matter of factly straightforward and efficient.

Still sending lots of well wishes in James' direction, I'm glad he's on the mend.

Corey's flat sounds great - it's lovely to see him getting settled and lovely that you got some good time with him <3

I'm glad the mammogram went well!!

Yay for getting to see Corey's flat. I'm glad it's a nice one.

It's great that James is feeling better, but the description of his leg as red raw made me cringe just imagining the pain. I hope it heals quickly.

I hope you enjoy your shows!

That all sounds pretty good, especially the walk along the promenade. Well - mammograms are never fun but necessary. I have one in a couple of weeks (my second one), and hopefully it won't be as painful as the first where I just felt they were flattening my breasts between two compressors. Never pleasant!

Also, we totally need pictures of the Way brothers. Anybody would think Gerard was a vampire - oh wait!!

Nah, s'overrated.

It pleases me intensely that over the years Ray's hair has not gotten any more chill and it still has 'I will be a rock and roll wild child no matter how much product you use' vibes.

Good to hear your first mammography went so well! I've heard scary stories of people's experiences but I've only ever had positive experiences with mammography staff. Hopefully yours will continue to be positive too *keeps fingers crossed*

Stupid truck spoiling your coffee break view >:-[

I hope Corey and Sharna will be very happy in their new flat!

I'm sending James ALL the healing vibes I can find!!

Ray and Frank looks just the same as ever!
