It was James' birthday yesterday. I like to buy him t-shirts that I know will appeal to his sense of humour, and this one went down really well.

Since last, I posted.

I had to change the reservation day for our Christmas meal out with Pauline, my brother, niece, and nephew. Reason being when I went to get the deposit money off my brother to take to the restaurant, he decided to tell me that my niece was actually working on the booked day. It took a bit of organising, and a lot of luck that a table was left at this late date, but I managed to change the reservation to a day everyone was available.

I'll just skip past the fact I also realised I'd double booked myself and James with both our tickets to see Kinky Boots at the theatre and the meal being the same time/day. So, the situation with my niece got us out of a jam, too. Not that I told Pauline what I'd done...

We did a craft fair on Saturday and it was a good one. A long day and it was raining really heavily when we were leaving, so we got soaked packing the car, but it was worth going. I also liked the organisers gave tickets to all the traders to get free coffee or tea and then later on gave out little cones of sweets. It's those little touches that make all the differences.

Our table was opposite the chocolate tombola which was very popular, so we got lots of passing people. Though, sadly, I didn't win when I tried myself.

In an hour or so my brother is coming to put up a hand rail on our outside front steps. There are four pretty steep steps and while we can get up them fine, I'd feel better if some kind of rail was there, especially when things get slippy in the winter. The rail he's putting up is really solid, and in fact, I took it from mam's house when we had to give that up, so it's good it's being installed at last. And eta, it's up and installed.

On Friday I had a one to one with Rosie

I'd asked for a meeting as I've been frustrated about how my weight loss is slowing and knew she'd have some answers, that or tell me to give my head a wobble. In the end it was a mix of the two, she gave some tips, mainly, keep an eye on creeping portion sizes, but mainly gave some facts I need to remember.

Since my first weigh in at the weight management scheme I've lost 12 stone four pounds, which works out at 172 pounds I think, plus, my visceral fat percent is 11, when the number to aim for is 13. I've more muscle, and yes, still have a lot more actual fat I could lose but also have a lot of lipodemea type fat that I couldn't.

Really I could stick where I am now and be overweight but perfectly able to function, and I need to focus that I've lost an entire person, and am so much healthier than I was. Not my frustrations at a now slow weight loss.

She has booked me in for another one to one in six weeks time, and I'm glad about that. Even though I know most of the things she teaches now, it's always good to be reminded, and get some encourgament alongside that.

Happy belated birthday to James!! Great t-shirt!

I'm glad your brother's late notice fixed your own snafu. *g*

Yay for a great craft fair! Those little touches are so nice.

A handrail is a great idea.

It's great that you had a good convo with Rosie. (And she wasn't the slightest bit evil! *g*)

Happy belated birthday to James! It's cool that you can find the perfect T-shirts for him. Wasn't one of them along the lines of 'the shark took my leg?' It's so nice to have a sense of humor!

That's nice it worked out that the change to accommodate your niece helped you guys out as well. I wouldn't tell anyone in the family either! LOL

You've done an amazing job, so go you! I'm glad you have someone as nice as Rosie to help guide you. The plateaus used to drive me nuts, but I kept looking for an answer. And unfortunately, the answer is, if you want to lose more, you need to exercise even more and eat even less. The whole thing is, I plateaued after I'd lost about 20-25 pounds, but then realized that I'm no longer carrying around that 20-25 pounds. The heavier a person is, the more calories they burn moving around. When you get lighter, you no longer have the excess weight to haul around with you, so you burn fewer calories. Now that I know, I just have to push myself to do more.

A belated Happy birthday to James!! Please give him a birthday hug from me.

ETA: Forgot to say that I love his new tshirt, it's awesome!

Congratulations to not only managing to make sure your niece could attend the Christmas meal but also make it so you yourself could be there ;-D

Good to hear the craft fair went well!

A sturdy rail is a must in icy weather so good to know you know have one.

You've lost an entire younger-me, that's totally fabulous and something you should be SO proud of! But yeah, I understand your frustration with how much the changes have slowed down now. Your talk with Rosie sounds like it was a good one.
