Challenge two.
Make a Top Ten list for your favourite series and tell people exactly why you love it. This can be in any format - tv series, book series, radio plays, movie sequels, something else not mentioned here. Your series can be as short as two vaguely linked pieces of media and as long as... well, the sky is your limit. Whatever you like!
I went for tv shows and book series I've loved, which are behind
The Musketeers, specifically, the BBC tv version. How much do I love that show? A lot. Especially Aramis the murder kitty himself. I love how it's this mix of serious and fun, and they all look damn good, too. I have to admit, I'm not that keen on season three because Aramis and Porthos being at odds makes my heart hurt but it still has some great moments and the series overall is excellent h/c fodder.
Mutant X, with a focus on season one as after that things changed. But well, season one was perfect for me. I loved Brennan, and the found family feel of the team was like catnip.
Schitts Creek. I remember watching the first eps and wondering what the hell I was watching, as I hated the four main characters. But people I trusted told me to keep watching, so I did, and quickly learned to love them all. The whole family is dysfunctional, and yet, I ended up rooting for them as they grew and, sort of, changed. And then of course, David met Patrick, and their relationship quickly became one of my favourites.
The X Files -- I did want to believe. I did believe. Though I didn't actually ship Mulder and Scully, I thought they were both amazing characters and there were some truly great episodes. Disturbing ones too, like Home and Tooms
Star Trek Academy -- I can't believe how fast I've fallen for this show. There's not a character I dislike and I've enjoyed every episode that's been shown so far.
The Pitt -- this show is amazing. I love the concept of the whole season being one shift for the staff. It can be hard hitting at times but the cast are fabulous and really pull you into the highs and lows of each episode.
21 Jump Street, the show of my early and mid teens. Tom Hanson was it for me, what a guy. What a team. What a theme tune. And after watching the below it feels like I've been propelled back in time, sitting watching an ep on the vcr, with a big ass bow in my hair.
Star Trek Voyager. Yeah it's got some dodgy episodes, but it's also got characters I obsessed over ( Tom Paris ), and episodes, like The Chute I will always remember, even so many years later. It's the show that got me going to Trek cons, spending far too much money and doing such delightful things like dancing to Star Trekkin' with a load of cos playing Klingons. It's also the show that had me reading slash for the first time, which was an eye opener for the Paris/Torres fangirl who I was at the time.
The Innkeepers Chronicles books by Illona Andrews. It was hard to pick a series from these guys as I haven't read a story of theirs I haven't enjoyed. I could have easily used The Hidden Legacy series, or Kate Daniels, but in the end went with Innkeeper simply because I love the idea of the magical inn that's just as much of a character than any of the others.
The Hardy Boys series, including the casefiles. These were the books of my childhood to mid teens. I thought Frank and Joe were amazing, and ate up every book of theirs. I enjoyed their relationship, with each other, their friends and later girlfriends in the case files books.
