1. What's your favourite icon at the moment?
This one.
Love it so much! He's so pretty. I also have unholy love for my default.
2. Which of your icons have you had the longest, what is it, and what do you think it is that appeals to you and makes you keep it?
I've had this since almost the beginning of my LJ time. I had another Brennan one I adored which was my default for ages but I can't find it :(
I keep this because it's Brennan, and he's all charged up and despite the fact I don't talk about MX on here as much as the sdbs I love MX and Brennan. He makes my heart beat faster when I look at him, so much love.
3. What do you look for when you're choosing? The funny? The pretty? The fandom/interest appropriate? The personal?
It depends. I don't think I can be funny to save my life so it's not that. I love the pretty though and want pretty icons for all my fandoms. I have personal ones too which I use when needed. But mainly it's all about the pretty because I'm a shallow bitch ;)
4. Animated icons. Good, okay in small amounts, or bloody annoying?
I have a few so I'd say good, but only in small amounts *g*
5. Is posting with the same icon as someone else the equivalent of going to a wedding and wearing the same dress as the bride's sister? Or worse, her brother?
I wouldn't be devastated if someone had an icon the same as me, wecons happen, but I probably wouldn't use it as much. I prefer my icons to be pretty unusual, don't know if that happens but I try.
6. Any kind of icons you don't like?
There's some animated ones that go too far. I like blinkies and sparkles and moving pictures, but all together? Ouch!
7. If LJ removed the icon function tomorrow, would it bother you enough to make you migrate elsewhere?
No icons? NO ICONS! nononononononononononono *terri shakes in her chair*
8. Pick, say five or so icons, that work for you or made you sit up and take notice (Or if you can't be arsed with all that right-click, img src crap, point to the user who has it and describe)
That's mean. My flist has so many awesome icons.

castalie I don't talk about it much but I love Stargate, so this icon makes me happy 
seiyaharris has this gorgeous icon 
and english_muffin has one similar. They're beautiful and I love the colours.
augustuscaesar has a picture of Chris that makes me want to go...guh. 
nopsued has this fantastic icon, because they do, they so do.
