Apr. 14th, 2005 09:24 amI ended up phoning the police last night after mam phoned saying Kay's dad was banging on the front door trying to get in. I could hear him over the phone and I'm sure mam wanted me to go up and confront him which wasn't going to happen believe me. I told her to stay inside while I phoned the police which I did then phoned her back until they came. She kept going on about how she'd done nothing to encourage him, this is despite Kay telling me that he'd slept at mam's house on Monday night, and you know I would say that was encouragement right there. Anyway, the police came and she put the phone down so I could hear what she was saying, at which point she told them she was fine, she didn't know why I'd phoned for them and crap like that. She then hung up on me. Needless to say she'd been drinking. More fool me for getting involved I guess. Add that to the powercut the night before and the nights have been fun around here I tell you.
But things weren't all bad yesterday. I went to the teacher/parent meeting and despite getting the steely eye from Mrs Glencross things went fine. Though I'm still amused that she used my first name when the other parents are Mr or Mrs. Corey is doing fantastically well, he's been moved up a group in maths, is doing great in english and she's very happy with his progress, which is wonderful. I'm so proud of him. Reading through his work it seems he's got a thing for wizard and kidnapping stories, a Harry Potter fan in the making I think.
After that we drove to the coast as it was a nice night. We picked up the MiL and went to our favourite beach and it was just so beautiful. It was late, about 8:30 then and Corey and I were the only ones on the sand. He was wave dodging as he still had his uniform on but I went for a paddle and you know the water was freezing but it didn't seem to matter as the wet sand sucked at my feet while Corey and I laughed and dodged the waves as the ocean turned dark as the sun set.
I also changed my journal yesterday as I thought it was time for a change, so I made a new banner, added some components and I'm pretty happy with it. Look here if you'd like to see.
