James went back to work yesterday. On a phased return at first of four hours a shift, going up two hours after his next set of shifts and again until he's back to full-time hours. The only thing was, he was told he was in 9-1, got to work and it was actually 9-1 at night and not a day shift. They let him stay as he was just reading emails etc yesterday but is back on a short night shift today. He should have double-checked, but neither of us expected a phased return to finish at 1 am. It means he won't even be leaving for work until 8 tonight, which is weird.

Lots has gone on since I last posted. It was Pauline's birthday so we took her out to eat, had the meal out with my In-Laws which was very nice, then yesterday, Kayleigh was in an accident that wrote off her car. Thankfully she's fine and it was the other persons fault so she won't be paying out. Her car has already been taken away though, which is why we picked her up from work earlier and took her to pick up a hire car.

We've been to see Ad Astra, where James outdid himself and fell asleep five minutes in, and the new Rambo which was stupid had no plot and was far too violent for my taste. All of which I knew before going in but it was a film James really wanted to see.

We lost our parking appeal and a few days ago got a letter to say we owe tax money. Not a lot but even so.

Tinker is doing better. She was in for her third B12 yesterday and has put on weight each time. She has a check-up with the vet next week -- yesterday was just the assistant to get the injection -- and hopefully, she'll go to being monitored over months and not weekly.

I went for my latest lymphodema appointment, which I'll cut for details )

Houghton Feast started last night. The fairground is in town and the huge ride that towers over the shops can be seen from my house again. We didn't go to the opening show as it was raining but will walk into town and go to the parade later. I do like Feast time when I go outside and can smell chips, candy floss and toffee apples and hear the faint music of the fair.

I've decorated the landing using the leftover wallpaper from the bedroom, turns out that papering bumpy walls isn't as easy as smooth plasterboard but I did it and even worked out how to cut in the light switch and plug. I've also put up the new curtain hooks and some decorative shelves, so the bedroom is looking good. I had planned on painting the downstairs toilet, but haven't got around to that yet. We've got a really bright lime green for in there, it may look terrible and too much, but I figure why not give it a try?

I haven't written a word or even read anything fannish for a while, but will hopefully change that once I'm back from the Feast.
