Jun. 21st, 2021 02:53 pmI was supposed to be glossing the woodwork in the toilet today, and in fact, it's the perfect day for it. Dull, much cooler than it's been for a while with that misty rain that soaks you. But, it's my last week of the mail survey for a while and in their wisdom, my penultimate mailing was one letter before midday and one after. Which is doable but meant I needed to post the letter, wait until the clock ticks past twelve and then post the second. Which unless I wanted to go down to the postbox twice in the rain, meant going at midday.
But, the most important reason I'm not painting today is I'm going for sibs dinner tonight, meeting up with Kayleigh and Chris at 5. It's something we tried to do monthly after mam passed but we haven't been able to meet up together since July last year, so I'm looking forward to it. So, don't want to turn up with stripes of gloss everywhere which is inevitable. At least I put the new mirror/cabinet up in the toilet yesterday so one job is ticked from the list.
I've been catching up on some TV shows and watched the finale of Sewing Bee last night, and was happy with the outcome. Tonight is the finale of American Lego Masters, so I'm looking forward to that. Not that I ever expected I'd get so invested in watching people make Lego structures.
I've been loving all the BackSync stuff being posted by AJ, Nick, Lance and Joey. Who would have thought that all the joking about a superboy band would sort of come true. One of my favourites was teaching the Bye Bye Bye dance. AJ is going for it.
Company had an excess amount of Ocado and M&S branded fruit and veg, so yesterday they were selling it for 20p. Including the boxes of delicious sweet clementines, so we got three boxes. VitC will be topped up for sure this week.
I enjoyed In the Heights so much the other day. It was colourful, joyful, lots of dancing, lots of singing and was right up my alley. I'm sure James would have liked it too if he'd seen more than the last twenty minutes. Oh, and I was delighted part of it was set in a bodega. Sadly, there wasn't a resident bodega cat, which is how I discovered the term.
