Apr. 19th, 2022 10:10 amAs Easter weekends it has been a nice one.
Saturday we visited Corey in Newcastle and dropped him off some chocolate. Over two days went to the cinema and saw Sonic 2 and Lost City. I really liked the second, it's a popcorn film but I have a soft spot for Channing Tatum and the film made me laugh at points, so win.
We had an excellent whoopsie haul from Asda. We'd gone in the late afternoon Saturday and as the shops were shut Sunday they were reducing a lot of fresh stuff down to 20p each. The woman doing the reductions was great, encouraging people to take it as it all needed to go, and when I commented I was thrilled at getting some 20p veggie items started loading a load of other stuff in my trolley. So just offhand I got veggie kievs, burgers, sausages, wraps, non pork pork pies, stir fry strips, pancakes, so much stuff that thankfully I could wedge into the freezer.
Then yesterday Company was selling the good quality sandwiches and it actually cost less to get those for James' bait than it would have done to get the stuff to make them. So our fridge looks very well stocked right now. Not sure if they'll last in terms of freshness until Friday though. But if they don't, sandwiches for tea I guess.
Before Company we did our usual breakfast at Tim Hortons, which was weird but nice. Admittedly it was a bank holiday but when we got there just after 8 there wasn't a customer in the place apart from two older teens who'd stretched out on the couches and were apparently sleeping off a long night. They weren't bothering anyone and it was sunny so the whole place was warm and quiet and it was just nice to sit and have breakfast with it being so calm.
Then in the afternoon, we picked up some plants. We go to the same guy every year, it's not his job, he just loves growing stuff and then sells plants for 50p or £1 so it's a cheap way to get extra plants. Of course, as I also grow my own it's why I always end up with far too many plants, but I'd rather too many than too few. The garden is starting to look nice, the seedlings are in the greenhouse and I've got rid of all the leaves and old broken planters and then bought some flame effect solar lights from B&M which look pretty great at night.
We were also going to call in at the big boot sale on the coast but entry was £5 a person, and I think not.
Finally, one afternoon we spent with Kayleigh, Lucy and Bodhi. They'd been doing an Easter photoshoot with Bodes and really ( look at that face )
