turps: (cat look at me)
We went to Mog on the Tyne yesterday and as usual, had a fab visit. Right now only one of the original cats are left from when we first started to visit about 6/7 years ago but I like that because it means those original cats are off enjoying their retirement and more kitties needing a good home are taken in to replace them.

The day before yesterday we headed for Beamish the local open-air museum. That was a good day too, I like that once you buy your ticket it's valid for a year and as it's only about a 15-minute drive away it's an easy and cheap day out. It's also perfect for walking, while the site itself is huge, over many miles, trams and old fashioned buses constantly circle so you can walk as little or as much as you want. The new 50s town has started to open, right now it only has the hairdressers and sundae shop but soon it will have the police house, era-appropriate social housing and eventually, a bowling green, putting green and playground.

Sunday we drove my SiL to a CT scan she needed. She's been getting horrific migraines and ticks and the doctors are finally investigating, including this scan. On the way she mentioned she suspected she could be too big for the scanner but had received two letters the same, except one where she was over the weight limit, the other under. She was in all of a few minutes before coming out again and yep, she needs to go to an open scanner, so more waiting.

James got a letter about the procedure he's having, though still no actual appointment yet. The appointment team are supposed to phone him today as everything was meant to be done within four weeks, which is today. Of course, I've since done the worst thing and Googled what they're investigating even though I know it was said they didn't think it was that but still, the words and terms were there, so I looked them up and sent myself spiralling. I swear, I'm my own worst enemy at times.

From tomorrow he's off again until Tuesday and right now plans are to meet up with my in-laws tomorrow as it would have been my FiL's birthday and we're putting in a remembrance plaque at the cafe at the top of the street where he used to live, with the cafe's permission of course. Then we'll take my MiL out for a few hours and then meet up with everyone again to have dinner out when the bairns come out of school.

Friday the new Downton Abbey film is out and I can't wait to go see it. It was originally supposed to be my Christmas film the Christmas before last so I've been waiting a long time.
