turps: (Bren and you wonder)

So like I said in my last post I had the great black screen of doom last night. Silver totally shut down with a fatal error and freaked the hell out of me but he seems to be fine now. I also discovered this morning he didn't shut down last night, and now I'm wondering if I should leave my computer on all the time. I'm on broadband so there's no reason to log off and power down, it's just habit.

I downloaded the latest QAF ep and the series finale of Mutant X yesterday and haven't watched either. I don't think I can watch the MX, it's like as soon as I watch it that's it and I don't think I'm ready for that. I totally know that the show sucks, and I spend half my time defending it, but still, I love it so much. I've watched from the first episode and am totally in lust with Brennan, and man, mutants are so cool. Blasting electricity from your hands, phasing and massing etc, it's just wow "" I don't want it to end, and I know it might not if the legal action succeeds but really, I think that's it. :(

Also, remembering that I have another long TrickC thing to write made me go eep today. This is a totally new story, one not related to anything I'm doing at the moment.

Okay, I have things to do before I get grief from someone *coughJoshcough* ;)

ETA: I think Silver is haunted. Chris and Joey hosting TRL is coming from my speakers and none of my media players are open. I've checked the task manager and nothing's open that should play that. Bloody Choey, haunting my computer.

**Shakes fist at black screen of doom**

Back before the broadband got cut off, we didn't turn the iMac off pretty much ever lol It was funny and oddly comforting to look at the log on internet timer and see it past 100 hours lol If you do decide to do it, make sure you've got a firewall that's reliable (I've never had one, I'm so naughty) and you do restart the computer every now and then. Constantly being on does affect the running of things.

In other news, it's like the year (and a half) of things ending. Buffy, Angel, Friends, SatC, Mutant X, SG1... was and then didn't, I've said it before and I'll say it again, what a lovely metaphor for the end of my adolescence lol

**snuggles you**

I'm behind two firewalls, what can I say, I'm paranoid *g*

I think I will leave it on, for one thing it takes ages to boot up now I've so much crap on it, plus there's the whole thing of taking BT for every penny that I can. That's always a bonus ;)

Far too many thing are ending. I don't even watch Friends normally but I know I'll be sitting Friday sniffling away. As for MX, I bet that eps still sitting there unwatched weeks from now *g*

*snuggles you back*

lol two firewalls is definitely enough *g* I figured you'd have one, and it never hurts to be careful. I know what you mean about length of booting up lol

I'll be watching Friends. I think I'll leave it 'til Friday when I'll watch with mum. I usually watch it Thursday on E4 and then again with mum, but I'll keep it lol and then, new Big Brother! lol oh the sadness lol gotta have something to keep me busy not Angel's ending and Smallville's coming to a season close on Monday. Oy.

lol you take BT for every penny you can scrape, bastards lol

I downloaded the latest QAF ep

Did you use bitorrent? You know, as weird as it sounds, I never regretted not having bitorrent as much as the last couple of days. Two people on my flist offered me to burn a whole lot of episodes for me (S1-S3 and S4 apparently) but I just have this *need* to get my hands on them, like *right now*, and of course I cannot demand anything from them, you know? I'll get them when I get them, and I'm soooooooo grateful. But I'm also soooooooooo impatient lol It's awful!

I also found a way to get season 1 on DVD btw... yeap, it's a long story, so you might hear it on a mail or LJ one of these days, but I found a way, more than half the price (well from 165€ to around 50€!) *and* playing on my region2 DVD player. It's called a miracle... or just asian version lol Hey wait, I think I just summed up the whole story in less than two pages!

Wow!

Wait, what did I comment on in the first place? Oh yeah, you downloading the latest QaF eppy... so yes, huh my question was what did you use, and also how long does it take?

LOL, I know exactly what you mean about wanting things now. I've only seen up to S2 and that's on VHS. You'll have to share your site with me because I so want them.

But onto downloading. Yeah I use Bit torrent and depending on connection speed and what else I'm doing it usually takes about 3 hours to download an ep. Which seems a lot but I suspect it would go much faster if I wasn't downloading other stuff, surfing, e-mailing and writing at the same time. Poor Silver is going flat out. But I've managed to get two eps in less than a day so I personally think it's worth it.

If you go here (http://suprnova.org/) you'll see how many shows you can download, as well as movies though I've never done any of those.

LOL, I've only got two because I realised one day that XP has a built in firewall and I'd already bought Norton. But it's always worth mentioning, it's like people who say they have no virus checkers, I couldn't relax without mine.

Man, Big Brother, I watch that too, because I'm sad. They'd better have good people this time, last years sucked :( I hate Cameron *shudder*

BitTorrent does seem more alluring each time I hear about it. I think I'll give it a try once I'll sort out my mess with McCaffee or something... and they have an impressive list of media to download, wow!

Thanks for the tip!

lol I think my laptop has one somewhere... but I could be wrong lol it's running XP... I should check that *g*

Big Brother sucks ass, but every single year, there I am, spending my summer watching it lol I usually really get into it after the first couple of evictions, too many people in the beginning lol

Dude, Cameron freaked me out, there was more to him than meets the eye, I was sure. Though I do know a very lovely woman from the Orkney's who we stay with when we're in Scotland (she moved to a village North of Inverness when she got married) and apparently she knows his mum and she's lovely lol But Cameron was plain old weird

Well I had no idea that XP had a firewall until I was reading the help file, so I did a bit digging and it's true *g*

I always say I'm not going to watch BB, but soon I'm watching Dermot in Big Brother's Little Brother, then the highlights, next thing I know there's nothing I want to watch on tv so I sit watching them idiots sit asleep in the garden. It's not like they do anything interesting either, yet still I sit and watch.

Cameron so had a hidden agenda, the slimy little rat. I swear the more I saw of him the more I wanted to hit his smirking little tee total face. I have to admit to having a soft spot for Alex two seasons ago, even though he turned into a publicity hound now. That part where he was drunk behind the door and singing was wonderful. Man, I'm so sad! I'm shutting up now.

lol the best friend's girl told me our laptops have firewalls after BT told her lol I think I turned it on... how do you know? lol

In other news, yes. Absolutely. Only we usually watch from the beginning lol I lovelove Dermot. With a passion lol And have done since he was on T4. Add even sadder and only slightly related, talking about following presenters careers, Ben Sheppard? I forget what he presents, I used to watch him on the Disney Channel many years ago lol with a guy called Simon. He called him Ben Sheppy Sheppard lol

Anyway. I loved Alex lol him drunk and singing in the bathroom was hysterical. And when he finally lost his temper and told the girls to shut up and listen to him *g* There's been so many people I've loved and hated and even more I can't even remember the names of lol And yeah, I sit watching them sleep, and thinking to myself, 'this is sad, I have no life,' and yet I keep tuning in lol
