Computer help needed.

I need help before I either kill my sister or change my locks so no one can get in my house when I'm not in again.

Kayleigh used my computer when I was out yesterday, when I went to surf I found out that she'd downloaded a load of programmes somehow. I checked the history and it looks like she's picked them up via Faceparty or msm being as they're the only sites she visited.

I've ran my spyware software and got rid of most of them but there's a toolbar in IE that just won't go. It's not there in Firefox but just knowing it's there in IE is annoying me. Also, Firefox won't display some pictures but I assume that's a server problem still.

I've double checked the internet options, messed with what toolbars are visible but I can't get rid of it. My computer's also very slow and that's not right at all. There's a picture of the bloody toolbar behind the cut, sorry for the size.







If anyone can help I'd be really grateful.

ETA: Just restarted my computer and Firefox won't load at all. Just excuse me while I go bash my head on my desk.
ETA2: I'm a moron. I clicked on the toolbar and you could disable it that way...sigh.

Could you tell me what's the different between Firefox and IE? Why do people like the Firefox so much and everything? I'm curious and would be amenable to some changes eventually *g*

1. Get a large box and a padlock.
2. Whenever you're going out, unplug the keyboard and the mouse from your computer.
3. Put the hardware in the box and the padlock on the box.
4. Hide box.
5. Take the key to the padlock with you.

Dude. I definitely learned the hardway about leaving my computer unattended. People see it & think that means that they're SUPPOSED to come & get on it and screw it up. Bah!

Anyways, I'd start password protecting my computer if I was you. ;)

Basically, Firefox is faster, doesn't crash as much, has tab browsing (whoo!!) and isn't such a target for hackers because, well, most of them use Mozilla. :) I love Firefox. I don't think I could ever go back to using IE as my overall browser.

I would kick my sister's ASS if she did something like that to my computer.

If you go to Start --> COntrol Center --> Add/Remove Programs you should be able to find the toolbar and adware and uninstall it.

I would add to what couchrules said, that it had an inbuilt popup blocker, so with one click, the web becomes a popup add-free place. I'm always vaguely surprised when people complain about the number of popups on website, because to me they just don't exist.

(I actually use Opera, but Firefox is great too.)

Oh, she's going to get her ass kicked when I see her. She seems to have a knack of doing things like this. I gave her my old computer last year in perfect working order and within months she'd trashed it.

Tell me about it. My brother and sister both have keys to my house and seem to think that's permission to come in and use my computer when they want. I wouldn't mind but they don't know what they're doing.

I think I will password protect. After spending hours cleaning the thing it seems the right thing to do.

You've had some great answers from nopsued and couchrules and I agree with everything they say. For me I love the tabbed browsing the most. When you have a lot of pages open at the same time, as I do, it's much easier to have tabs on top of the pages. Also, the pop up stopper is a god send.

Yes, great answers - your buddies are really cool, then again, it's not surprising *g* I'm definitely interested with the tabbed browsing the most because yeah, I sorta tend to have 4214 pages open at the same time lol
