Sep. 28th, 2004 11:32 amSo I watched Lost last night. Details behind the cut, but one thing I will say here. If I'd seen this before I wrote my cliché challenge I wouldn't have had so much angst about it *g*
I loved the episode though I spent the first few minutes thinking 'see you can survive a plane crash on a desert island' which had nothing to do with the show, just lingering worry over my story.
Jack's the character that first attracted me. I loved the way he went around assessing the situation and he looks like he's going to be a good character. Seeing that guy sucked in the engine was rough, especially as I was watching on my computer about a foot from the monitor. What I want to know is how Jack ended so far from the others. I know he was in the window seats but still, he seemed to be alone and at a distance from the rest. I like Charlie as a character too and I'm guessing it's drugs he went to the bathroom for. Of course I'll probably be totally wrong.
There seems to be the typical spread of stereotypical characters. The black woman ( her husband was in the bathroom right so must be dead? ) the pregnant woman, the cute lifeguard and his idiot girlfriend. The overweight guy , I'm still deciding if showing him gathering the in flight meals and walking around with them annoys me or not. I mean it needed doing but it had that feeling of let the fat guy get find the food.
I liked Kate too, the part where she sewed up Jack was nasty yet she still did it without that much of a fuss, and I liked she demanded they go back and get him later. Thinking of that time, the poor pilot. Surviving the crash then killed by something pulling him from the window. I've no idea what that something is but it's damn scary. I can't wait to see more and discover what's going on. That dog creeped me out too, something so normal in a weird situation.]
Slash wise I see nothing yet. In fact I see more het than anything *ducks to hide from the throw stones* but I'm content to wait and see how it goes. So yes, a thumbs up from me.
It's my two years anniversary on here today :) I joined LJ with a code from
heuradys who offered it on a TS list. She's still on my flist despite us being in vastly different fandoms now. For the first few months I had about three friends and received maybe one comment every few posts.
castalie,
babycakesin and
ninjetti75 hadn't even joined then and I was reading Boys slash in secret. These two years have been full of ups and downs both in RL and in fandom and I think I've talked about it all *g* There's bad stuff about LJ but I can honestly say that's way out weighed by the good, especially you guys. You all rock, every single one of you.
Actually, the fact that today is my LJ anniversary makes me laugh a lot, especially in terms of my writing ;)
Now I go to put on the Farm, because I may be getting a little crush on Vanilla Ice.. Though poor Richie, you were so popular in 5ive and now look at you. One last thing. Paul Daniels in an odious little man, thank god he's going. I wanted to scratch at his little beady round eyes each time I saw him.
