This week seems to have flown by in a blur. Lia is up, leading to mam going out and the resulting hassles, the junk room has been cleared and is now a spare room again which I'm pleased about. We threw out multiple bags of rubbish and old stuff, I had to be ruthless about a lot of things like bags full of baby clothes that went to charity and magazines that would surely never be read again. We also threw away parts of an old wardrobe which led to me piercing my foot this morning after I stepped on a piece of wood with nails sticking up. Luckily they were small nails but still it bled like a bitch and all the time I was trying to hop back into the house James was telling me I should have worn shoes and just, I know. Tell me later.

Anyway, that's a lightening fast recap of how things are over here. Now as it seems I have nothing else to talk about _jules_ asked me to talk about my icons and you know it's Jules and I like to keep her happy even though it took me hours!



This has been my default for a long time now. I made it ages ago and really it could be made better but I'm not going to change a thing about it. I love it so much, euro era Chris is one of my favourites, I loves his hair back then ( I know it says bad hair but really that's more about what other people say ) plus you know, braces. I don't tend to use it in comments a lot but I see it all the time when I'm at my journal and that makes me very happy.

Blair Sandburg, be still my heart. I still consider TS as one of my fandoms, obviously it gets less attention than the popstuff but I still love Jim and Blair. I also love the jumper Blair's wearing here and he never wore it again which was a crying shame. The expression on his face cracks me up, I can just imagine Jim coming onto him and Blair's all baffled for a second before pouncing and showing he knows exactly what goes where. Again it could be improved as it's one of my first icons but I won't change it ever. I tend to use this most at the sentinel_thurs community or when I'm talking to non pop flist people.

I got this from one of the Mutant X fan sites. In terms of media Brennan is my favourite character ever! I lust after him constantly and think his power is the best thing ever! He can shoot electricity from his hands, man! I'm all gleeful when he makes it arc like that, because dude. That's cool. I use this icon when I'm talking MX or to the MX people on my flist.

My penguins. I collect Penguin Pete pictures and have this one on my bedroom wall. It was a simple crop and resize but I think it works well with the simplicity. Used for when I'm giving out hugs of a personal nature when I try to send comfort anyway that I can.

GUH! The words say it all. This is from the season 3 promo shots. At the time I was worried that the whole feel of MX was changing as Adam and Emma left and Lexa arrived. I love MX, just adore it so was so relived when they released the promo shots with Brennan looking so hot, which sure is shallow but with all the changes I needed to know he looked good at least, and he so did. Again it's simple, I'd read somewhere that icon subjects should be off centre which is why he's cropped like that. Used for comments to non fandom folk or MX people.

My hockey team. It's a simple crop and resize and it hardly gets used unless I talk hockey which isn't often, but I like to know it's there.

I made this one and the next around the same time. I just love how Chris looks here, the hair and the colouring and the pissy look. It's also one of the few icons I have that have my name on, probably because I suck at text. This is pretty much a personal icon for when I'm feeling sad or down.

Like I said this was done at the same time as the one above. I just love how that patch of sunlight is highlighting his face, when I look at it I'm reminded of road trips in the sun and imagine he's sitting against his car, the metal hot against his back as he watches his guy approach holding ice cold drinks. dazzlingstar send me a photocard with the same scene on it and each time I look at it I'm transported away. It took me ages to think of the words despite how lame they are. Used when I'm happy because of something someone else has done.

My Christmas icon. It's a simple crop and resize but it gets attention every Christmas. I was so lucky to find such a perfect picture of a shocked Santa and for once I knew exactly what words needed to be used after I'd discussed wanting videos of sdb sex with someone. Used at Christmas obviously.

Around this time I hit a period of taking screen caps and took this one from one of the award shows. I'm thinking the MTV ones but could be wrong. Chris looks wonderful, all stark and glary and just guh. Used when I'm commenting on something hot *g*

This is made by jchalo, I picked it because Chris looks so young and lost in thought. He could be thinking of anything, what to have for dinner, adding up how many times they're asked how they got their name, remembering last night, anything. It's another icon that I use for general comments outside of the fandom.

Another screencap and one of my favourite icons. I took it from some footage which I'm blanking on now. Chris was being his usual hyper self and JC shut him up by placing his hand over his mouth. It makes me laugh when I look at it because it's obviously something that happens often. Also you just know that Chris is licking JC's palm.

seiyaharris made this for me. If you look at the pictures you'll see they're all incesty which is a result of Becca and I having no morals at all in terms of slashing siblings in fiction. It's an in joke between us that there's nobody that we won't try to slash, therefore the handbasket to hell.

Becca did this one for me too. It's Richie from Highlander, another show that I love. I know most people like Duncan or Methos best but for me it's always been Richie, and no he's not dead!

The second of my TS icons. I'd just learned how to give text an outline, can you tell? ;) To me the words are Blair, he gets knocked down all the time yet still goes on. His determination and stubbornness are some of the qualities I like best about him, he even kept on going after loosing his whole career for goodness sake. The words are also a play on the fact that TS fandom is a huge Blair whumping ground.

I bought some photos from E-bay and this was one of them. I just think he looks gorgeous. No hidden meaning or anything, just pure gorgeousness.

Made by sinbrat I love this icon a lot. The colours are gorgeous and again he seems all lost in thought. It feels wistful to me, all bitter sweet memories that he doesn't want to have but remembers anyway.

This was a crop and resize and is used when I'm talking about all things sex or kink, which is obviously not enough the amount of people who said I was vanilla in that meme. I'm all about the kink and have been for a long time. Thinking about someone tied up, collared, ball gag in their mouth is so hot and this icon represents that.

This was made by krabbypatty. I needed a trickyfish icon and this was perfect but trickyfish is surely Chris approved.

Another euro!Chris icon, you may notice I have a few. I like the crop which shows off his rather forced smile and the way his braids point forward.

I'm not sure if this one works or not. I love when Chris wears his clockwork orange eyemake up and have a thing in general about guys in eye make up, but like I said I don't know if that shows here.

Chris looks lost in thought yet again ( I'm sensing a theme somehow ) I like how he looks in his suit, all 'normal' then you look and there's the beard horns.

It's Nick! I really like Nick, he does what he wants and is just this really cool guy. I also like the make up he wears in this picture and his snarl *flails* This is one of the icons I tend to use for angry comments, not about people but situations they're in. This is also one of the last simple icons before I discovered the delights of brushes etc in PS so be warned ;)

I made this when I discovered animation shop. It was around this time that I started to become interested in messing with icons and after a lot of trial and error I ended with this. There's some more sparkling Chris' out there and a JC too as I practiced over and over. I tend to use this for general sparkly posts.

Brennan blasting away. At this point I'd discovered the magic of layers, and went on to use them a lot.

My first timbertrick icon. I love the colours and the way Justin is looking at you, he knows that Chris is his and is letting you know it.

I really like this one too except for one thing. I think the texture layers is a bit too visible but again I love the colours and pictures. It's like someone has surprised them by taking a picture, they're attempting to smile but not quite getting there.

I had to icon this picture. I adore everything about it. I nearly deleted it when I saw someone with one almost exactly the same but had to keep it.

From the same shoot as the last one. I look at this picture and just drool, he's so pretty.

From the past to the present. Taken from one of the CFTC set of pictures I learned how to pick up colours for this icon, matching the texture line colours to the blue of his sunglasses and the red of his shirt.

A picture from the night of Chris and Justin's engagement party or as other people know it, the Celebrity release party. I've said before that I think they all looked fantastic that night and when I saw a series of pictures where they were all laughing hard at something I had to icon the one of Chris. It's not often you see a real smile so seeing him like that makes me smile too. I tend to use this a lot. It's my happy icon and one suitable for most occasions.

The second timbertrick. I over sharpened this as shown by that annoying white bit on Chris' eye. I know how to fade the sharpen now but didn't back then. I really should fix that one day.

I was experimenting with muted colours and blends here and using the eraser for texture. I like how this came out and use it a lot for more sombre comments.

Baby trickc! This goes back to my love of the euro era again, add in Chris bunches and two happy smiles and how can you not like this icon?

Kevin was actually my first sdb crush, one I had way before I discovered Nsync. There's nothing really special with this one, I was just sticking with what I knew in terms of brushes.

forceofisis said these looked like the progression of an orgasm and I have to agree. I use these a lot depending on who I'm talking to, it's the only individual Justin, JC and Joey icons I have, sadly I still don't have a Lance as I can't find the perfect picture that will fit.




I love the picture but aren't sure of the effect on this one. I suspect it's too visible.


Another muted icon which I like except for the border which on second look doesn't work that well. I'm thinking of redoing this one.

My lone Choey icon. Nothing that special, I just let the guys do the talking.

More euro TrickC and the first time I'd had text on an icon for a long time.

You can always tell when I learn something new which is shown here. I'd learned how to do little pictures within an icon and loved how it looked. I tried my own version, a now and then TrickC and like how it turned out, I just wish I hadn't faded it so much.

Like I said I learn a technique and use it all the time. I like JC's floppy fringe in this and his profile in the other pic.

I like this icon but don't use it that much, like the keywords say it's so wrong. Yet I made it anyway.

I'm really rather proud of this. It took ages to get the animation right and I like the colouring too, plus what a perfect way to get all my OTPs in ;)

Chris can be pink too! This was an accident but I liked how the colours turned out. I had to keep it even though it's different to all my other icons.

Phew, last one. I only made this a few days ago, pretty euro Chris. I lightened him up and smoothed out his skin tone and I think it turned out okay.

Now I'd better go check the wheelie bin. There's been a severe weather warning issued for gales which I'm not happy about. I hate wind more than anything, it makes me edgy and knowing people have been warned not to leave the house makes it worse.

I love the sparkly!Chris one. It's so subtle you almost miss it. And the otp animation is brilliant. Of course you know my favourite and I'm glad to see it's still around, even if the season is over. Also, I love the "orgasm progression" ones, as you call them. They're really beautiful.

I read a news article a few years back. It said that tetanus is the easiest disease to prevent. However, if you get it, your chances of survival - even with full hospital support - are only 50%.
