Jul. 7th, 2005 07:45 pmWhen I went to pick up Corey earlier the church was open so people could go in and pray. He remarked on that walking past and once I'd explained he asked if they were praying about the Olympics, because we'd spent yesterday and before school watching pictures of deliriously happy people. I said no, that bombs had exploded in London and people had died and been hurt. We talked on the way home, about bombs, trains and buses. A conversation I never wanted to have.
In case anyone isn't exactly sure where I live it's about 300 miles north of London, so we're just fine, but I have good friends down there and I worried this morning until I knew they were all safe. I ache for those who'll never have that feeling of relief.
