I should just keep a post on draft about this and save myself some time, because I was sick again Friday. I'm good now but Friday night wasn't the best I have to admit. Over the weekend I was thinking about why I seem to get ill so easily lately and remembered something I read when I first researched taking the weight loss tablets the doctor prescribed, which was they interfere with absorbing some sorts of vitamins. Now this may mean nothing but at this point I'm willing to clutch at any kind of straw, however short that is, so will be buying some multi vitamins when I go to the doctors later.

Saturday we went to Whitby with my nanna. It was touch and go if I'd go for a while but she was looking forward to it so off we went. I like spending time with her but man, she needs a gag at times. Whitby is the most gorgeous costal town, the beach has donkeys! there's arcades and huts selling seafood and sweets, arcades and loads of fish shops. The river runs alongside the shops and you cross this bridge to get to the other side where there's more cobbled narrow streets and interesting shops, including the divine Justin's chocolate shop, hmmmmm. When we arrived we discovered it was the local folk festival which meant the place was packed with troops of Morris dancers. Everywhere you looked were men and woman with blacked out faces and outlandish clothes dancing with sticks to the beat of drums and accordions. The best thing were the bells, each one wore tiny jingerly bells attached to their shoes and knees so all you could hear was the jingle of bells as they danced and walked. We stood and watched two troops and nanna seemed to like it, at one point I was sure she was going to join in *g* But like I said, sometimes she really needs a gag, like when we went for dinner. We went to a fish and chip restaurant in a booth and the one behind us was occupied by four women who were having a great time. They were loud I must admit, laughing and having fun, but man, nanna was just as loud when she announced they'd obviously been let out for the day from some kind of institution and lets not talk of her expression when she saw this cool guy dressed in thigh high boots and a man skirt. But yes, we had fun even though all I was good for was stretching out on the couch and watching tv when we got back, and okay, that may have included having inappropriate Justin/Leland thoughts from Dog the Bounty Hunter, but no one will ever prove that.

Yesterday we did a car boot sale which was totally uninteresting except Corey wiped out a load of our profit when he found someone selling Beano books which he loves and I managed to totally burn my shoulder and chest, but just on one side because I'm just that good. Other news, Kayleigh ( my sister ) has been offered the job of stewardess of looking after the club where she's a barmaid. It's such a good opportunity for her though a little daunting I'm sure. She's 19 and has only been working a year or so. She was given the job over all the much older barmaids so there's a little resentment going on, but I think she'll be fine. What I love the most is that the club is a typical north east working man's club in that woman can't be served at the bar and don't have the same rights as the male members. The members tend to be intolerant about anything they don't know and really it's a place I won't set foot in unless I have to. But Kayleigh is planning to ask Lia to move up here eventually and work with her, at which point all the members will probably choke on their beers that their precious club is being run by a lesbian couple.

I was going to do the year you were born musical meme but I only knew about four songs, I mean, who the hell is Wet Willie? Three Dog Night? Redbone? And if everyone knows them and I'm just an uneducated savage, forgive me.

How awful it must be to become ill so easily! I'm sending you all the virtual hugs and well-wishes I can find.

This made me laugh heartily. People like that deserve to have to have their tidy little lives turned upside-down.

I mean, who the hell is Wet Willie? Three Dog Night? Redbone?

Never heard of them either. I'm too old to even get a list. Rank ageism that's what it is :-)

it certainly can't hurt to try the vitamins - anything to give your imune system a bit of a boost. Poor honey, being ill so often. Sunburn also sucks. Aloe gel?

and is it wrong of me to be thinking 'Go K!!' for taking apart their preconseptions from the inside - and go her for meriting the promotion.

That's what I thought, they surely can't hurt so I'll give them a try. Hopefully they'll help a little. I've been using aloe aftersun and that seems to be doing the trick in terms of the sunburn. I'm just annoyed with myself for getting burned in the first place. I know better.

Not wrong at all. There were ripples when people found out her sexuality but she stayed and showed she's not some kind of sexual deviant and is really quite normal ( well mostly *g* ) I hope she does well, she deserves the success.

I was thinking about you on Sat, Whitby is always associated with you now, I missed you.

Thank you so much for the hugs and well-wishes. I'll take anything I can. I'm just getting tired of getting sick so easily you know? I'm feeling great with the weight loss and everything so this is something I don't need.

You and me both. They need a shake up down there and she's the one to do it *g*

I'm glad it's not just me. I was looking through my list and almost every one I had no clue about. But boo hiss for you having no list!

Gah, I'm not this afternoon. I have to go out in about ten minutes. I'll check and see if you're still up when I get back though, it should be before you go to bed.

I'm not alone in that - [livejournal.com profile] withdiamonds didn't get a list either and I know I've heard of at least one other. Perhaps we ought to start a club - Old Pervy Ladies For Popslash, or something like that :-)

I need to find you an MP3 of "One" by Three Dog Night. Great tune!! I think I have the DOkken version I can upload for you... *goes to look*

Yep! Found it...

DOkken does this song almost exactly like the original, so this gives you an idea. It was my "Mulder & Scully" song for the longest time. Yes, I was (still am?) a huge X-Phile.

Feel better! I hope it's something as simple as vitamins. If that does turn out to be the case, make sure you buy a really high-potency multi, in order to replenish everything your body has lost. The bare minimum in most multis won't be enough.

Also, yay for your sister! Damn the man!

Ahhh.. I never got to experience the working men's club at its best as I left when I was 16. I do recall their was a men's only lounge though. Woman could go to the bar in the municpal lounge, just not the mens one!

Hope you're feeling good now anyhoo.

BHAHAHAHAHA. They totally deserve that. Also, I had the same problem with the music meme. I knew six of those 100 songs. ;)

Weight loss tablets? That might have something to do with you getting sick easily. *nods* *hugs*

You went to the beach!? *jealous* I love the beach. Wish I'd live closer to it.

Get well soon!!

Oh man, I could eat everything in Justin's. Which is why I have to treat myself to something when I'm down there.

Yeah, I'm on tablets that are helping me lose weight. They are working but I suspect they're the cause of some of these other problems I'm having. I guess it's a balancing act to get everything right. But hugs always help, thank you. *hugs back*

I did go to the beach, we live about a fifteen minute drive away from it so go often :)

That is so unfair. I want to live that close to the beach!!!!! *sad* I only get to see the beach, like, once a year.

I could so need some weight loss tablets. *sighs* Although right now with work and everything I've started to lose weight, which feels really good. I wanna fit in my old clothes again!!! *pouts*
