This last week has been a bitch in terms of computer stuff. Poor Silver wasn't working at all well, then Norton went totally screwy and blocked me from uploading, downloading, shoved mails into weird folders, just went insane really. But, in trying to fix things I made an almighty screw up somehow and managed to totally wipe all my Outlook express settings, which I only realised when the first of 10,000 mails started to download, a whole years worth it seems. All my folders were wiped too, which included mails from friends stretching back up to 4 years in some cases. Three years worth of beta, writing, feedback stuff. Every mail I ever saved into folders, gone. Just so much I'm trying not to think of just now. I've downloaded retrieval software and have one which found the files, but won't let me save them unless I have a registered copy, and it's just, head meet desk time.

I know I'm lucky in many ways. It didn't touch my media files or any stuff I've got saved, but man, all those mails. It's to cry. Plus I have the insane situation of having a mail box with over 9000 mails just now. Which is good in a way as it means when I actually weed through them I'll probably find stuff that was sent in the last few months, but actually doing so makes my head hurt just thinking about it.

Apart from that, things are okay. I had a visit to the lymphodemia clinic on Monday and my legs have decreased in size to up to 10cm round in some places, which is a combination of the lymph fluid starting to go where it's supposed to and also from losing weight. But the best was, the leg with the infection 'o doom used to be 35 percent bigger than the other, now it's down to 25 percent which is of the good. James has been off work sick all this week too, so between not been able to get online and not being able to watch tv because of him hogging the control, well the house is sparkling.

There's other things I'm sure. Can't be that important though as I can't remember. Oh wait, I must have a little squee about Supernatural starting over here, and season 2 of House soon. I mean, sure I've seen them already, but it's so much better seeing them on tv. I think James will like Supernatural too, he can admire the urban legends and I'll admire the cesty brothers ;) Prison Break is starting soon too and I'll give that a try. It seemed a lot of people on the flist were watching it then just stopped for some reason. Though of course nothing is as exciting as seeing The Barrowman, Andi Peters and Phillip Schofield, on Dancing on Ice on Saturday, Live and Kicking and the broom cupboard reunited, how can my heart stand it!? Ahem, yes. There's some gorgeous billboards advertising House around town at the moment, I so want the one of Chase but James won't steal it for me, because he's just mean like that.

So yes, still alive, and I have both House and Supernatural downloaded and ready to watch after doing some mod like duties. Tomorrow, I tackle the mail box...eeep.

Ow, that sucks. I can just a little imagine how that feels, because I've been keeping all of my mails for the last five years as well -- I even keep my own journal comments. What's that retrival software's name? I'm usually quite good at finding cracks, maybe I can get something.

But good news about the legs!

I was gutted when I realised what had happened. Those folders had a huge amount of my online life in them, and yeah, I should have backed them up I know. It's another thing I'm kicking myself about.

I've been using OE-Mail recovery. Like I said, it found the files but won't let me pay unless I pay, which sucks. If you can help that would be awesome.

Thank you!

Okay, I found a supposed key (however, I don't know where you need to enter that) for the 1.7.5.1 version, download here

and a rar-pack of the program including a reg file that will make a full version out of the trial (I tested it, it works!) of the 1.7.6 version, download here.
You need to unpack it, install the "OE mail recovery 1.7.6.exe" file (or, if you should have the 1.7.6 version installed already, leave that out), then just double-click on the "OE-Mail recovery key 1.7.6.reg" file and say yes in the window that pops up.

If there's problems, just holler.
