Oct. 10th, 2006 06:24 amUnpacking my son's rucksack I found three pairs of socks still rolled up, and a totally dry toothbrush. I guess washing and changing clothes weren't high priorities at Scout camp.
The conn was fabulous, the christening not so fabulous, not in a bad way but a OMG! I got up at 4 in the morning to drive for 4 hours in order to renounce evil in a church then sit in a pub eating buffet food for 5 hours when I could be discussing gay porn, kind of way.
That's the short version. I'll post more later when it's not dark out and I'm getting ready to wake C for school.
It's Houghton Feast week here, the week the fair comes to town, lights are lit in the trees and along the street, and an ox is roasted in the local park. Of course the fair is over priced, the lights sparse and the ox is probably a cow, but still. It's Houghton Feast, and the excitement of that still clings from when I was a kidlet and used to be taken to see the lights with my parents. We've missed the lighting ceremony and the parade, but last night it was a visit to the fair and a cup of broth while watching the fireworks display.
Before I go. I need to show you all the pic James took of our hotel room. We had a sea view, so he took a picture out of the window, then freaked a little when he looked at it. I'll link directly to photobucket because you need to see it big for the full effect. The middle blodge is James' hand, but look at the left side. Probably some kind of trick of the light, but I like to call it a representation of my slashy side's pain as it realises we have to leave the conn early. Link

Date: 2006-10-10 09:36 am (UTC)All the Scouts were given the official camp t-shirt on the last day, so he was wearing that when he got home. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that was the first clothes change of the weekend *g*

Date: 2006-10-10 09:22 pm (UTC)uh oh... this reminds me of one day when my brother came back and he and his backpack stunk so badly that we sent him straight to the bath (he was 7 years old) and we just unloaded the content of the backpack in the washing machine. I won't start describing the smell, but let's just say that sweat wasn't the only problem *gags*
