Jun. 20th, 2007 09:44 amThe second challenge at
pop_appreciate is to express your love for Nsync/ BSB, so I'll ramble a bit.
I've always been a Backstreet fan. I remember when they first formed and I quickly grew to love their music and thought Kevin was the hottest thing ever. I still love their music and I still think Kevin is damn hot, that will never change. What did change was my number one boyband.
Nsync were never big over here, and I'd never paid them much attention at all until one day I was desperate for more stories to read, and clicked on my first ever crossover. It was a Chris/Nick and at that point my fate was sealed.
I'm sure you all know that period where you fall for something and fall hard. I went from having to look up pictures to know who these guys were to having thousands of pictures, stories and footage stored on my computer. It started with Chris. My interest in him was sudden and overwhelming, I thought he was amazing, hot, just everything and all these years later I still do. .
In fact the whole group delights me in so many ways. Looking at footage, you can tell they really liked one another, and no one will convince me that they don't still do so now. They have an obvious bond, and I love that. I love that they tease and joke and just be there for each other. Justin delaying his show to watch Joey on DWTS. Watching each others shows, the canon is amazing and perfect. Chris and JC's families doing Thanksgiving together, Lance being Bri's godfather. There's so much like that and it's wonderful to find out that those things you read in fic actually happened.
They have the best stage shows. Silver Space Bulls with Red Eyes! Space hoppers! Attaching themselves to walls! Flying over the audience. Monks, outsized hats, strange velvet outfits. Flips and dancing in sync, hand gestures so you know they're feeling the songs. Then there's the other moments we all know and love. The finger quotes "", the pixi stix, the interview they gave so obviously drunk. The anti drugs, Deerfield and messages to the troops.
They're dorks who on one hand don't take things seriously at all, and on the other are the ultimate professionals. Five guys with amazing voices, and when you put them together you get something special.
I love them. A lot ""
