I threw an old fan out yesterday. Within minutes one of the people on our estate knocked on the door asking if she could have it. So I told her that it didn't work, that it didn't have a guard over the blades and the feet were wobbly. Really not safe at all. This morning I woke up, let the dog in the garden and discovered someone had been in the garden and took it. Which while I'm not mad that it's gone, I am sick of people coming into the garden and taking things. I mean, we didn't go to bed until one, were up at seven so they must have been sneaking around in the middle of the night. I just hope they don't mangle their fingers.

The two stories I'm working on? I'm about to chop a load of words from one of them. The story needs it though and once I've added the new stuff it'll be much stronger. But still....

I tell you, the adrenaline rush of working on fic that's due in the matter of days, you can't beat it.

I've fallen in love with Panic performing The Weight. So much love, seriously.

ETA: Downloads for the song plus Nine in the Afternoon and I Write Sins mp3s in comments.

And that's all I have.

There's something so wrong about people stepping onto your property and taking things - even if it is being discarded! I really don't get what gets into people!

Our garbage pickup is on Mondays and there is this guy that drives by late Sundays and takes stuff from the garbage piles. We put our garbage on the curb so at least we don't have people in our yard. I have to laugh at the things that people take. I've put out a computer (in which I've removed the harddrive) and it was taken. Two weeks ago an old lamp was taken. We even have guessing contests on what will get taken. Nobody ever came to our door and asked.

I srsly thought for a minute that you meant a fan, like a person of fannishness. This may be because it is well past my bedtime, Y/N?

Hee! I thought exactly the same thing as [livejournal.com profile] woolly_socks. And then I thought of Lance in that interview saying "I think our Menudo age should be thirty."

I can kind of understand people taking things which are going to be thrown away, but coming into your garden to do it is just *rude*.

We've had that happen when we clean out our shed and put stuff out. People get all *kerflempt* about it and we're just boggled because it's always old, broken stuff, ya know?

Maybe one of your neighbors sells scrap to junkyards? Is your house the only one that's been targeted? You may want to raise or reinforce the fencing around your perimeter. Look out in the following weeks to see which neighbor has scraped fingers -- that's probably the culprit.

I hate to cut words - it's like every word I write is golden and how can I possibly get rid of them? In the way that it's not, of course.

Yes, just a few days left to finish a story is always very exciting.

While I certainly understand the attraction of other people's junk - your junk can be my looked-for treasure! - going into someone else's garden is just not done! So very rude!!

Good luck with the writing!!

That's just wrong. And kind of creepy. Why would she want it anyway, if it didn't work *and* would be dangerous if it did?

Could you put up some sort of private property sign telling people to stay the hell out of your garden?

I'd be creeped out and annoyed that I couldn't put anything out there temporarily without the fear of having it taken.
