I've just been watching MCR's Summersonic 09 stuff. Gerard's hair tat at the back of his head will never not be funny. Also, Ray and Frank are big old teases!
I keep meaning to rec two stories that I've enjoyed lately. Both Panic and both dealing with sex and the beginning of relationships.Precious Things by
northern is Ryan/Spencer and damn hot. It hit my kinks and then some. Put Your Finger On My Trigger is Brendon/Spencer and written by
greedy_dancer. I liked that one because it dealt with how sometimes sex can suck, especially when you're dealing with something new.
I'm very glad that a masterlist of the BBB stories have been posted. Now I can get rid of some of my tabs. I plan on reading a lot this weekend, I was supposed to be meeting up with
arsenicjade today but can't and that makes me sad, so, fic is the answer. That is once we get home as we have a shopping trip first -- it was Corey's open evening this week and he had an excellent term, therefore, he gets the rest of the money he needs to buy the Converses he wants.
Talking of stories. I have over 5k of Frank/Mikey agoraphobic blind date fic. Which really, how the hell does that happen? I'm hoping to get it finished soon, and also poke at the pacing which isn't working that well at the moment. It also keeps getting sad on me, which okay, shouldn't be surprising as they're in the afterlife and therefore dead, but they're supposed to be trading grisly death details not getting all woeful about lost girlfriends and brothers. I know how it ends, now to just get there. Any of you usual suspects willing to beta this weekend? It should be done by tonight.
I've had my first plant casualty. Or not even a casualty really as the seeds didn't even grow enough to die. What gets me is they're chives, chives are something you're supposed to be able to grow on a windowsill and all I have for my efforts is a tray of soil. I keep peering at it hoping for some sign of life, but no, just soil. But I'm reluctant to throw it away because what if the chives are just under the surface, ready and waiting to burst into life? I could re-use the soil and have chives sprout in unexpected places. So for now my tray of soil is staying where it is, getting watered and with lots of sun.
As of now Kayleigh -- my sister -- is still in the hospital. Mam hadn't been talking to her for the last few days which made things difficult, but thankfully that's passed. Now if only she gets some answers.
People have friended me due to the bandom friending meme, and I've seen a lot of awesome intro posts. I thought about making one but really, this is as good as it gets. I comment a lot so you'll be seeing me around and as I don't make secrets of what I like, I'm sure you'll soon realise my obsessions.

Date: 2010-07-10 03:18 pm (UTC)oooooooo your prompt fic thingy sounds interesting and like it will probably be good(even if it keeps getting sad on you(I'd still read it....but that's probably obvious considering what I like to write). I'd offer betaness but I'm only average at grammar and I'm sure you have loads of people who'd be up for betaing ya.
*also side note speaking of prompts going sad I wrote the amusement park prompt on my schmoop bingo card for FBI Verse and it was like driving a massively unaligned go-cart around a track, I kept having to pull it in the proper direction...I think it's schmoop worthy but damn was it straining to keep it from sliding down into the mire*
I should have more words about the plant death...but all I have is CHIVES!!!!...for some reason I really like that word...it just sounds funny and cool.
*hugs*...more positive energy sent your sister's way

Date: 2010-07-10 05:47 pm (UTC)You always end up making your stories heartwrenching, it's nothing to wonder at! It's what you do!
I didn't know chives where easy to grow, no one here grows them. At least not anyone I've ever heard of. Maybe they need a warmer climate than ours.Strike that! I just realised that instead of "chives" I'd subconciously read "leeks". Chives everyone grows of course but you almost always buy a plant or get one from a friend. I've never tried growing them from seeds.Poor Kayleigh. I'm keeping my fingers crossed she'll get some good answers asap.

Date: 2010-07-10 06:16 pm (UTC)I can grow rosemary from seed- that is supposed to be next to impossible, but I do it all the time- not to mention all my bushy happy basil plants (ok basil IS easy but still) and I've even kept a Bay tree happy for years in my kitchen! But Chives? chives elude me, chives are evil. Do not feel bad that you cannot grow chives :D
