I'm made of suck and haven't mentioned the birthdays of two very lovely ladies. Happy belated birthday
stellamira and
mickeym. I hope you both had lovely days ♥
I'm so behind in everything right now, tv watching, emails -- I look at my in-box and have woe. Do not forget me friends! I still love you! Pretty much all my online time is taken up with writing, but there's light at the end of the drawn_to tunnel at least.
So, a down and dirty catch up.
My sister is moving into a house a few up from mine. This means in a row of houses on the estate it'll go my house ----- kayleigh's ----- mam's. The house she's in right now sucks big time and the neighbours she has are horrible, doing things like spitting on her girlfriend's car so I'm glad she's getting out.
Our car blew a tire which led to sitting in the cold and dark for a long time as James tried to sort out huge fail by the garage who'd sent out a brand new car without the thing needed to take off the locking wheel nuts, which meant the RAC man had to break them off so he get the tire off and then go and get a new one from another garage.
My monitor has been acting up again. I'm getting a new one for Christmas so I just hope it hangs in there until then.
We're actually organised for Christmas this year, to the extent James went out and delivered the cards to the estate people yesterday. Whether they'd have been happy getting them so early is another matter. Really the only thing that needs sorting is the food and I intend to book an online Asda slot for that soon. When I told James I was doing that he got all sad and said that we usually enjoyed doing the grocery shopping before Christmas, and no, no I don't. The shop is always crowded, too hot and pure chaos. You end up queuing for ages then have to pack your bags, get them into the car, get them out of the car and round to the house to be unpacked. If I can sit and order everything online to be delivered that's exactly what I'm going to do.
I have a cold, but that's okay because I also have hot orange and blackcurrant lemsip.
This morning I've been puzzling over the whole first comment thing. I know I've griped about this before but I don't get it. I especially don't get people who jump in there to get first comment and then say there's going to read the fic. What happens if they hate it? If I ever start giving out first comment cookies you'll know I've lost my mind.

That's easy. Miss out one critically important thing from the Christmas meal shopping, and then send James out to get it :-)

It does seem to be the logical solution. I'll have to suggest it, see what he says *g*

Date: 2009-11-28 12:29 pm (UTC)Make sure the thing you forget will be something most places will have run out of, so he'll have to visit lots of different shops so that even with just one item he'll get the full fun Christmas shopping experience!
I was in such a rush to first comment, I missed you having a cold. Hope you feel better, soon. And don't forget to microwave your Pecker!

Hmmm, good point. I'll make sure to add seafood sauce. I still have flashbacks to a few Christmases ago to when we couldn't find it anywhere. What made it especially sucky is I don't even like the damn stuff.
Pecker has had his belly taken out and nuked many times. He's perfect for warm snuggle times ♥

Date: 2009-11-28 01:06 pm (UTC)You need to email and tell me why you never said about watching HIMYM. No other shows yet though as I'm horribly behind in everything.

Date: 2009-11-28 01:12 pm (UTC)It serves no purpose at all. All it means is you happened to be online when something was posted. That's nothing that needs acknowledging.

Date: 2009-11-28 01:30 pm (UTC)Could you send some of your Christmas organizing skills to me, please? I am in need.
I hope your cold goes away soon!

Date: 2009-11-28 01:38 pm (UTC)It makes no sense! I don't care if you're first, it doesn't mean anything and it's stupid. The only time I like to see a first comment is in really high traffic posts and someone goes FIRST! and they're halfway down the page. At which point I laugh.
I'll send you James. He's turned into a Christmas organisational demon. It's all very strange.
I hope so too. Stupid things.

Date: 2009-11-28 06:19 pm (UTC)It's the huge shop I hate doing. People are always so crabby, and by the time I'm done so am I. Willing to ram people aside if they get in my way. Online is the way to go for sure.

Date: 2009-11-28 02:18 pm (UTC)Yeah, first comment is perplexing.
I hope your cold gets better. It sucks getting sick when you have so much going on.
I used to have a boyfriend who I enjoyed food shopping with. But only late at night, not during the rush times.

Date: 2009-11-28 06:22 pm (UTC)I honestly don't get first comments at all. They make me all perplexed and confused.
Yeah, my cold really had bad timing. Stupid thing.
See, I don't mind food shopping at times like that, but a few days before Christmas at a huge supermarket? Not so much.

Date: 2009-11-28 04:01 pm (UTC)I'm keeping my fingers crossed your monitor will survive until Christmas.
You're sounding scarily organised, even I haven't planned that far in advance yet ;-P I totally hear you on the hating to shop when there's a million other people there. I love living so close to the store. It means I can shop a little now and then whenever I feel like it and time it when I know there isn't going to be a lot of people there.
My sister is having a horrible cold too. I hope you'll get well soon! (PS What is lemsip?)
People are so STRANGE! Who on earth cares about who gets the first comment on something??!!

Date: 2009-11-28 06:26 pm (UTC)My poor monitor. It's such a brick but keeps coming back like some kind of phoenix.
It's James that's being so organised. He has all the cards separated in boxes depending on where they're going and the spare room is full of gifts. It's all very strange.
Lemsip is a powder you add hot water to. It's got paracetamol and decongestants in. Basically tablets in a soothing hot drink form. It's good stuff.
Who on earth cares about who gets the first comment on something??!!
Exactly! And yet I see it so often.

Date: 2009-11-28 09:38 pm (UTC)I wish I were organized for Christmas. I don't even have an idea for most of the presents. I haven't bought any cards or anything yet. I fail!

Date: 2009-11-28 10:00 pm (UTC)You've still got loads of time to get organised! Just don't be like me last year, get your cards, write them and then not send them /o\
