Nov. 28th, 2017 04:20 pmSometimes you'd think I wasn't a functioning adult. I was supposed to have a dentist appointment tomorrow as the cap I had fitted earlier this year has been bothering me. Booked the appointment, then today phoned as I needed to postpone it. Only the dentist had no record of the appointment, which was weird as they'd phoned this morning to check I was still going.
After a bit of investigating it turns out I'd made an appointment with another dentist in town, one I last went to about 20 years ago. Despite me saying I'd had the cap done earlier in the year etc they made no mention it wasn't them that had done it, and in fact hadn't seen me for a really long time. I'm just glad I did call to postpone or I'd have looked a right idiot tomorrow, and been landed with a non-attendance fee for the dentist that did have an appointment.
So now I'm going next Wednesday instead, and made the appointment in person at the practice to ensure it was the right place.
Today we've been to the limb centre so James could get his leg checked, then went on to Newcastle to have a mooch around the market. It had been snowing this morning, and that turned to sleet later, and it was cold, so we called into Hadrians Tipi which is a small market plus a huge tipi which is heated with open log fires. We got a seat next to one of the fire pits and it was so warm and cosy, though I did come out with my coat covered in ash. Now I'm just waiting until 5 when I'm taking mam's cat to the vets.
Tomorrow James is at the hospital as a day case to get his back injected. Considering the amount of operations he's had you'd think he wouldn't be nervous, but he is. Which is why I changed my plans. He has to be there at 7:30 and hopefully should be done by dinner time. They've said I can stay until he goes down to the theatre, but then I'll be off to hang at the cafe. So, book and plenty of money for drinks and I'm sorted.
Now to cram in my words before leaving.

Date: 2017-11-28 09:37 pm (UTC)Wandering around a market in sleet sounds very cold and miserable. The log fires on the other hand sounds delightful. Too bad about your coat though. I hope it was easy to get it off?
ALL the good luck to James tomorrow!

Date: 2017-11-29 06:36 pm (UTC)The sleet was horrible. I don't mind snow, but wet sleet cuts through you. The log fires were much better. The ash just brushed off, thankfully. Though considering all the sparks I'm sure some people will be singed before the place opens.
Thank you. It went well.

James' procedure went very well, and continues to help him loads. Which is a great relief.
