Snowflake Challenge Day 14

Today I've written and posted a fandom stocking, and finished all the drabbles from a few days ago. Most of which became double drabbles because hello, more words. It was fun doing them, and they're linked below.

Day 14

In your own space, talk about what you think the future holds for fandom. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Honestly, I'm not sure and have no thinky answers.

When I started in fandom it was all Yahoo mailing lists, webrings, personal sites and huge online archives where you sent LoCs via email. Then it moved to LJ and personal journals and communities, and then to Dreamwidth. And that's where I stayed, I know a lot of people went to tumblr, but it was never a platform that suited me, so I stuck around here, and have been thrilled to see so many come back.

Will everyone stay? Probably not, but whatever happens, fans will find some way to come together. That may not involve me but fandom always finds a way somehow, and whatever happens and whereever the fans may be. I hope they have as much fun as I've had already.

I’m so glad everyone is here on dreamwidth, through snowflake I’ve ended up meeting and interacting with more people. I hope that continues

They were fun to do. Though wish I'd done double drabbles from the start. More words are always better.

Yeah, I really hope that continues, too. It's been great to have so much activity around here lately.

I'm so hopeful that the issues with Tumblr might mean we're a bit busier around here than we've sometimes been after snowflake.

i post so infrequently, but as an interface, i like it much better than tumblr? it's easier to make friends here. so i'll be shaking my cane with you, is what i'm saying. <333

It's really amazing how much fandom has changed over the years! It will be very interesting to see where it will be in another two or five years. And yes, I completely agree with your last paragraph.

Considering the relatively short amount of time fandom has changed immensely. I'll be interested to see what the new thing is, even if all I'm doing is watching from afar.
