It's nearly Snowflake time. I'm sure everyone on my flist knows what the challenge is about, but if you don't, check out the comm. The whole challenge is low pressure and it really is a great start to the year.
Thank you to
I got an email from the blood place saying I don't have enough COVID antibodies to donate plasma. It's disappointing but the email was informative and explained they only need plasma from those with the highest levels to help those that are hospitalised. So, back to donating whole blood only.
James is at work today but then off for three days. So, tonight I'll be making a mini buffet, nothing extensive like the Boxing day buffet, just stuff to graze on as we see in the new year, no doubt while watching TV. Then tomorrow the decorations will be coming down, so I'm having one last day of enjoying the lights, deer and sparkles.

Date: 2020-12-31 02:51 pm (UTC)I did my vein test on Christmas eve, but sadly just don't have enough antibodies. The centre was very busy though, so even if I can't donate, a lot obviously are which is a great thing.
I'll miss my sparkle deer, and the house will look bare. But, it'll be nice to get more space back.

Date: 2021-01-01 10:53 am (UTC)Mini grazing buffets are the best. It's something I'm going to have to remember throughout 2021 how much I've enjoyed doing the last week or so

Date: 2021-01-01 04:51 pm (UTC)Mini grazing buffets are the best. I like how you can eat what you want and just go back later if wanted. So easy after the initial making of the food.

Date: 2021-01-01 06:01 pm (UTC)I started taking down a few decorations but still have more work to do. Sometimes it feels kind of nice to have some more open space again where they were.

Date: 2021-01-01 06:15 pm (UTC)It's a shame about the plasma, but half expected as the majority of donations come from males, simply because of blood volume issues. But, I thought I'd give it a try anyway.
We did have a lovely NYE celebration, tv and grazing on delicious food is the perfect level of excitement really. I hope your NYE was all you wanted too, and this year is good to you.

Date: 2021-01-01 06:17 pm (UTC)I agree about the space. I love all my decorations but it's nice to be able to walk out of the room without brushing against the tree.

I took down my decorations on the 1st as well, mostly to save them from Alexander, who it turns out is a demon when confronted with plastic sparkles. :D

Date: 2021-01-02 05:32 pm (UTC)I see in comments that you'd a nice New Year's Eve (and that you got to mock James for crying ;-) I guess you've taken down all your decorations by now, right? Mine will of course stay up until the 13th and I might even let the tree stay until the end of the month like I did last year.

Date: 2021-01-02 06:26 pm (UTC)I did have a good NYE, and mocking James was a bonus *g*
Yep, all the decorations are gone now. I don't blame you for leaving yours up, but mine take up so much room that it's nice to have some space back.
I'm still watching Christmas films if that counts.

Ah, your comment about Alexander reminded me of something Murphy did. He was great with the tree, hiding under it but never bothered it otherwise. But was obsessed with this small cheap tree mam bought me years ago. It's pretty much a cone covered in sparkly Stormtrooper heads and Murphy loved it, and apparently also loved chewing it. Which I realised when I found a sparkly stormtrooper head in his business in the litter tray. Needless to say the tree was quickly hidden. Cats!
