turps: (Christmas owls)

It's nearly Snowflake time. I'm sure everyone on my flist knows what the challenge is about, but if you don't, check out the comm. The whole challenge is low pressure and it really is a great start to the year.

Thank you to [personal profile] chalcopyrite and the animals, for the beautiful home-made card. You're a star for thinking of me, and don't worry, the sparkle deer herd is in no fear of diminishing, quite the opposite, really *g*

I got an email from the blood place saying I don't have enough COVID antibodies to donate plasma. It's disappointing but the email was informative and explained they only need plasma from those with the highest levels to help those that are hospitalised. So, back to donating whole blood only.

James is at work today but then off for three days. So, tonight I'll be making a mini buffet, nothing extensive like the Boxing day buffet, just stuff to graze on as we see in the new year, no doubt while watching TV. Then tomorrow the decorations will be coming down, so I'm having one last day of enjoying the lights, deer and sparkles.

I didn't realise they were giving antibody-filled blood to hospitalised victims! How splendid. Disappointing that you can't donate—I know I would feel Very Proud if I could—but donating whole blood is still splendid.

I'm taking down my decorations tomorrow, too. Night-night, sparkle deer!

I'm looking forward to [community profile] snowflake_challenge again, and I'm in a much better headspace than I was this time last year so hopefully I'll be able to play properly :)

Mini grazing buffets are the best. It's something I'm going to have to remember throughout 2021 how much I've enjoyed doing the last week or so

Ahaha. Well, if he stayed awake for it, I'm not surprised he cried (and that you mocked him for it)!

Yay snowflake!

I like that this time of year has a few buffet things🖤 I’m not sure when our decorations are coming down

You're a star for being willing to donate, regardless.

I started taking down a few decorations but still have more work to do. Sometimes it feels kind of nice to have some more open space again where they were.

I'm glad to hear the card got there at last -- I managed to post them before Christmas, but then with the whole -- thing, I just hoped they'd arrive before Easter!

You're an awesome person for donating blood, and even if it's not plasma full of antibodies, it's still a super helpful and selfless thing to do!

I took down my decorations on the 1st as well, mostly to save them from Alexander, who it turns out is a demon when confronted with plastic sparkles. :D

That is so cool that plasma with antibodies can be used to help those hospitalised! I'd no idea! It must feel a little sad that you don't have enough to help with that but your ordinary blood will still be very useful so go you for donating!

I see in comments that you'd a nice New Year's Eve (and that you got to mock James for crying ;-) I guess you've taken down all your decorations by now, right? Mine will of course stay up until the 13th and I might even let the tree stay until the end of the month like I did last year.

Fine. More antibodies for you, then. :) (At least you tried.)
