kat_lair is running A week of prompts and 'tasks' to elicit Squee and Creativity from the 23rd of August right here. It sounds fun, even if I have the creativity of a wet lettuce right now.

James had his first grief counselling session yesterday. It was arranged by his work and seemed to have helped a little. He also got a two-week extension to his fit note for work, and seems to think he'll be ready to go back then.

Milo is doing okay, we came back from Kayleigh's today and found him asleep on the storage chest next to my desk, so he's managing to jump a bit. And no doubt will be able to jump higher once his stitches are out as they have to pull. I'm going to move the litter tray out of the living room later, still leaving the lid off for ease of access but I don't think he needs it so close now.

We also made a suit for Milo to stop him worrying at his wound. Yeah, it's not the smartest thing in the world but it works.

Today it was time for the closomat to have its annual service. I worried the service person would make a comment about the cracked lid but all he did was say he'd go and get a spare out of his van. So, the toilet is back looking smart again, no masking tape keeping the crack from widening.

I was reading the release date of the Downton film has been pushed back until next year, understandable but I was looking forward to it being my Christmas film of the year. Okay, one of many Christmas films but you know what I mean.

You're welcome. I do think it's a good idea and hopefully will prompt some response from the sludge that's my creative mind atm.

The suit worked so well for Milo. Admittedly it's not the best looking thing, but keeps him from licking his wound.

Hugs are always welcomed. They're both doing okay but can both get even better. But, that's a time thing sadly.

Milo had a telephone appointment with the vet today -- well James did on his behalf, and the stitches will be coming out in seven days. So, he'll have to wear his stylish suit for a bit longer.

We're no sewing experts, but the suit is keeping Milo's wound covered, so I'll take the win.

It's a shame we don't have the skill to make a nice slinky catsuit and not the raggy thing he has. But, it works, that's all that matters.

James has been getting hugs. Extra ones too as a developer has been insistent on going to see the house and buying so things have been going a bit fast. Despite being in horrific condition the house is in a fabulous position for anyone commuting, but I just wish the developer would slow down a touch.

I hope the extension gives James some breathing room. And it's wonderful to hear that Milo is regaining some mobility already! That's a very clever suit and he certainly looks more comfortable in it than in the Crab.

Breathing room is what James needs. I suspect the house will be emptied by the end of the week then it'll be a case of getting his head together, relaxing and then back to work.

Yeah, the suit isn't bothering Milo as much as the crab. So that's a big plus.

I never claimed to be good at crafty sewing things, which is just as well *g*

The counselling was a good thing, it's just a shame as it still has to happen over the phone.

The house though, the developer seems desperate to get his hands on it, which makes me suspicious my MiL is selling herself short in terms of the money she wants.

That's really nice of James' work to arrange counselling sessions. I hope they will be helpful for him and that the leave extension will too. I'm sending him all the good thoughts!

It's so good to hear how well Milo is doing! Such a smart idea to make a suit to cover up his wound. He looks adorable in it!

With being a health care company, James' work are great in terms of mental health help so I wasn't surprised they arranged grief counselling. I hope they do help, but suspect getting the house emptied completely and then sold will help more.

I was pleased at how Milo's suit came out. His wound is such a difficult one to cover, so having a suit made sense.
