Thank you
dine for the card that arrived today ♥ It was a fun card with a cover cartoon saying powered by coffee, with a note about my coffee disaster, and greetings from both Dine and her beautiful Olivier. I also got a letter about my next Lymph appointment, which considering I only phoned to chase it up yesterday suggests our mail is back to being delivered in a timely fashion again.
I was in bed by 8pm last night and slept solidly to 6 this morning. Yesterday I realised my B12 injection is due in about a week and picked up my tablets, including my iron tablets which I'd stupidly let run out last week. I suspect these things could be connected.
We also did another tip run yesterday, getting rid of a load of cardboard boxes and a few bags of rubbish. So, it's all looking quite good upstairs now. Not perfect yet, but all rooms are useable. Now the next job is to tackle the diverter valve on the bath tap. The mixer tap itself still works fine but the diverter to the shower hose seems to be sticking which isn't an issue as such. Just, the taps are on the side of the bath and I like to top up the hot water, and right now I can't do so with potentially scalding my side and thigh. Googling suggests trying to grease the diverter first with some WD40, but if that doesn't work I'll have to try and replace the valve. Which doesn't look that hard but famous last words and all that.
Today we're off to the cinema to see M3GAN. This isn't the kind of film I usually go to see, so I may spend half of it with my eyes closed.

Date: 2023-01-15 12:50 pm (UTC)Next job is to paint the living room, which again won't actually take that long. It's just the prep work that's a bit daunting.
I chickened out in terms of fiddling with the diverter. Mainly because I really wanted a bath and not to play at being a plumber. But, today I'll give it a go!

Date: 2023-01-16 07:30 pm (UTC)Very silly of you to run out of iron supplements like that. You must remember to take proper care of yourself! *looks stern*
It must be so nice to have the upstairs in order again after all the upheaval. Good luck getting the diverter to work properly!

A bash with the hammer and some lube and the diverter is working again *g*
