Jan. 21st, 2023 02:31 pmWe went to a new-to-us cat cafe yesterday. The Bad Cat Cafe is on the outskirts of Newcastle, not too far from where Corey lives. It's different to the others we go to in that the cats there are all there to be adopted, they arrive, spend a few weeks being socialised, and then can be adopted. It does mean a constant turnover of cats, but I like the idea.
The cafe itself only opened in August and isn't as slick as the others we go to. No booklets about the cats, no hand sanitiser, you can keep your shoes on but they do excellent and cheap mugs of coffee and tea and simple food. It was a good visit and we'd go back for sure.
We drove past Corey's flat on the way home but he'd been at work until close at 4am so knew he'd be asleep so didn't call in, just went for a coffee, shared a box of chips and came home.
I've been catching up on some shows I've had recorded for a long time, and recently finished Stumptown, which was great and am now making my way through APB, which is decent enough. Though looking I see both were cancelled after one series, which is typical.
Today I've met up with Kayleigh and Bodhi for a Costa breakfast and had a drive to the coast, calling in some reclamation yards and the tip recycling shop on the way home. I now have a beautiful iridescent bowl and James a load of wood. He's upstairs now testing his new lathe and has big ideas of making a bowl. No idea if that will happen just yet but it sounds like he's enjoying trying.

Date: 2023-01-21 03:30 pm (UTC)I enjoyed Stumptown and was bummed it was cancelled. The really horrible thing is that it was renewed . . . and then Covid happened and it was cancelled. I was so annoyed they did that.

Date: 2023-01-21 03:45 pm (UTC)Sometimes I watch a show and even while watching know it probably won't be renewed, but I was really surprised when I looked up Stumptown and read it had been cancelled. So now I'm extra frustrated because it had so much potential. Stupid Covid.
