Sep. 28th, 2024 04:11 pmI've been doing some decluttering today, and earlier took a file cabinet to the recycling shop at the dump. The thing was heavy, and I made the mistake of trying to lift it into the car with the drawers still in place. Not only was it too heavy to lift, the drawers slid back onto my fingers, and now I have a line of bruises between my knuckles.
But, once I did take the drawers out it was easy enough to get into the car, so one big thing gone. Plus, a broken portable tv was taken to be left at the actual dump. Tomorrow we're taking a second file cabinet, as well as a lot of books that have been stuck in a cupboard for ages.
Of course, we also ended up checking out the recycling shop while there and James came out with some tools and I got more resistance bands to add to my collection.
I got an email from Jenny Juice earlier with six new dress designs. I've already got three dresses from there, with bats, racoons and skulls/snakes on, and love their quirky designs. I do love the Christmas dogs in the new collection, but could only really wear it in December. I also have my eye on either the dino or black cat in the main collection. It would probably make more sense to get one of those. But, Christmas dogs!
The one to one meeting went well with Rosie yesterday
Since our last one to one, James had put on a pound, not surprising really as he's been ill so often lately, and I'd lost just under a stone, which I was pleased about.
We had our usual talk about goals for these next six weeks and mine is to intensify my at home workouts. Which is why I got the bands today, as there were stronger ones in there. Now I just need to find some reasonable priced weights, they did have the kind you put on a bar at the recycling shop but I haven't learned how to do those, and the last thing I want to do is put out my back.
In the meeting James also reminded me I've got an aerobic step upstairs, and that I could use that. Which is true, but I suspect I've deliberately not reminded myself of that because step work is hard.
Another long Strictly show tonight. I'm looking forward to it, but must admit, am still missing this

Date: 2024-09-28 05:35 pm (UTC)I love the holiday dogs dress, but agree that the design makes it less likely you'd wear it in June. though I bet you could pull it off if you wanted *g*

This made me chuckle because I feel you so hard.
I hope you enjoyed Strictly!

I think my brain is trying to protect me *g*
I did enjoy Strictly, even though it's still a chunk of time to get through this early in the season.

Date: 2024-09-29 03:33 pm (UTC)I know! We've done another tip/recycling shop run today and this time I stayed in the car *g*
I'm so tempted still by the holiday dogs dress. I suspect I may buy it soon, that way can get as much wear as possible from it. Though, not saying I wouldn't wear it in June, too!

Date: 2024-09-29 03:38 pm (UTC)Your poor hands! I hope they're healing well, especially as you were doing so brilliantly getting things vamoosed out the house.
You're doing so well at the class - how much difference are you feeling in yourself?

Date: 2024-09-29 03:48 pm (UTC)My hands survived but I still have a band of bruises across my fingers. I took another file cabinet to the tip/recycling shop today, along with four bags of books ( the tip shop actually wants and sells old books which is great ) some unneeded picture frames as well as some rubbish that needed to go to the actual tip. So I'm feeling nicely satisfied right now.

Funny you asked that because last week when I was at the café at the beach, I was walking along the prom and remember thinking to myself, I actually feel good today. Nothing was aching, it wasn't hard to walk, breathing was easy, I didn't feel self-conscious in my own skin in any way. It was a lovely feeling.

I love the dino dress so much! I think I may have to invest in two *g*
The step is also evil!

The decluttering was going so well. But, I'll get back to it when I can get stuff to the tip shop again.
