Thank you so much [personal profile] dine for the adorable Easter card. It made me smile a lot ♥

I watched the latest episode of The Last of Us this morning and I AM NOT OKAY!

I knew the show would rip out my heart and stomp on it, but I never expected it so early, or that the cause of the pain would be Joel's death. I'm totally unspoiled so didn't expect that at all, and the way his death happened… That he saved his killer, that Ellie watched him die, her keep telling him to get up. Man, my heart was shattered.

The images in the episode were beautiful, brutal, and simple. The hoard attacking, horses in the distance against the white snow, Ellie looking back at Joel's body at the end. It was all beautifully done, and all horribly heartbreaking.

And I now know why the gamers, who knew what was coming, hinted at terrible things to come in season two. And I know there's still bad things to come, because those moving roots can't be good.

Meanwhile, I'm sure Ellie will be trying to kill them all, and not going to lie, I'll be cheering her on.

A fic rec that I read after. The Soles of Your Shoes Are All Worn Down by ermengarde, someone who I know will always write just what's needed, and that's the case here. A03 locked and spoilers to the end of S3 Ep2.

I bought tomato plants today, the usual Shirleys, and a few other varieties I want to try growing. This meant another clean of the greenhouse, and it's looking pretty good right now. And I'm feeling pretty grimy after sorting shelves and generally getting things ready for the growing season.

It didn't help that I had the old broken microwave in there along with other stuff that needed taking to the tip. So, that will happen tomorrow before we pick my MiL up as we're off for lunch out as it would have been my FiL's birthday.

Which doubly means I need a good soak, as dirt in my hair isn't a good look.

Yes to everything you said! I had no idea it would be so awful and hurt that much.

and not going to lie, I'll be cheering her on.

Same!

Thanks for the fic rec. It made me cry again, but the ending was as happy as it could be. *sniffle*

Yes to everything. So unexpected and painful. The only thing that makes it all better is Joel being reunited with Sarah in the fic.

Sorting out and cleaning a greenhouse sounds like a very grimy and exhausting work indeed. But also rather satisfying I can imagine. Particularly when one has new plants to put in it. I'll keep my fingers crossed it will be a very good growing season!

I hope you'd a nice lunch with the MiL today.
