Just have to tell you all that I'm dirty, I'm tired and I need some good smut because I'm in withdrawl.

My sister bought herself a new wardrobe, so I asked for her old ones. They're so nice, made to fit in a corner. She said yes, but man what a job it's been getting them here. Spent yesterday dismantling hers, then today taking my old ones to bits. Tip here, wear shoes when kicking at wardrobes to collapse them, wood hurts your toes. After that the new wardrobes had to be brought down, but I let my brother do that *g* He also put them up and I helped, if holding bits can be said to be helping. Chris works as a joiner so he was doing everything properly, using a spirit level and everything, me, I would have just kicked it until they fit.

So yes, my bedroom looks like a bomb went off in it, and that's how it's going to stay now because I'm done for the night.

I found so much stuff I'd lost when I was moving things, which lead to me sitting on the floor surrounded by Corey's baby clothes, just stroking his tiny vests. And all my baby magazines where there, and they need chucking away but I can remember sitting with James reading the things and couldn't throw them in the binbag.

Now I'm going to have a shower because I'm feeling mankey, then hit the flist, I've only had a quick 5 minute look since yesterday. Like I said I'm in withdrawl from smut, I hope I still remember what my pretty boys look like ;)

Hee! When I first read your post, I was amazed that you and your sister can wear the same clothes. Then I realized that your *wardrobe* is a piece of furniture! hee! My sister actually has one, but it's such an uncommon term here... pretty much every bedroom has a closet in the wall.

LOL, I wish I could wear Kayleigh's clothes. I'd have to drop a few sizes for that to happen *g*

I knew that the term over there was closet but I thought it was just the same as a wardrobe but a different name, not something built in.

I love finding these things out :)

Yep! It's like a mini-room with a door. There's usually one bar that goes across (where you hang your clothes), and a shelf above the bar. You can also get a walk-in closet, which is a bigger room, usually with bars along both sides of the room, and possibly across the back as well. My closet is about 2 feet deep by 3 1/2 feet wide.

Yeah, I can't fit into my sister's clothes either. She can wear some of mine (of my older stuff) though. But even if you don't think of sizes, my weight and my sister's weight are not in the same place.

Heee! Linguistics!!

Okay, actually, the term pretty much is "wardrobe" over here also, but like Kifty said, almost no one has one. Add to the fact that "wardrobe" also means "clothing" -it's even the official term for the costuming department in TV/Hollywood, etc.- and it's all the more confusing. The only other word we have that means "wardrobe" in the traditional sense is "armoire", which I find funny, since that's actually a French word...

You know this info about closets has made me think of certain stories in a different way. You know the ones where they're hiding in a closet and making out. It makes more sense if it's built in instead of how I thought it was, ie, inside a movable wardrobe *g*

I love words so much, and like I commented to Kifty, that explains stories where people make out in closets so much better. I thought they were in a free standing wardrobe *g*
