Jan. 12th, 2021 11:41 amThank you
venetia_sassy for the Christmas card. It was a very cheery thing to get today ♥
Lucy, Kayleigh's wife to be, has tested positive for Covid. She lives with Kayleigh and didn't get it back in October when we all had it, but when half the group home she works in tested positive it was pretty much inevitable she would too. Sadly she seems to have a worse case than we did, but at least Kayleigh is at home to look after her as they're both in isolation for a while.
The whole situation with my MiL's bed turned into a bit of a clusterfuck. ( cut for length )
On a brighter note. James' new role is doing him the world of good, so much so he was saying he feels like a new man. He's trying a shift pattern with longer hours in a shift for fewer days at work over the week, so is working 8-6 atm, meaning a 6 am wake up. I was a little dubious about how that would work, but so far it's been good. Which suggests taking a less stressful role was the right decision. He did love taking 999 calls, but it's a job where you have to be on constantly, have skin like a rhino and be able to compartmentalise always, and I suspect after 10 years of that he was just done. So yeah, while the pay drop isn't the best, that loss is more than balanced by his better mental health.
