Sep. 26th, 2023 12:41 pmBodhi gets christened on Saturday and Kayleigh has come down with an infected wisdom tooth, so I suspect she'll be looking like a lopsided chipmunk at the weekend.
The christening has been doomed from the start, none of our family are actually religious but Lucy wants Bodes to go to a Catholic school, therefore, she needs to be christened. But, it's already been postponed once, then Lucy has fallen out with all of her sisters, meaning she's had two different sisters as godmother, but both have dropped out, and now her brother is going to be godfather. So it looks like the ceremony will happen, with no meal or anything afterwards, which is a shame.
Good things, I enjoyed Strictly so much on Saturday and may have watched Nikita and Layton's Samba a ridiculous amount of times, for a week one dance it's great and I love the samba rolls --- I say as if I know anything about dance at all. I also enjoyed Nigel's Paso Doble, because I do like a bit of cape wafting.
Really, TV is pretty good right now and will keep getting better. New Bake Off very soon, new Ghosts, though the last season which is sad, new Brassic, and my own I still can't believe I love that show, new Celebrity SAS, Who Dares Win. Matt Hancock is one of the so-called celebs and I want to see him be destroyed, ground in the mud and hopefully cry. The utter slimy weasel that he is.
Other good things, I got a very decent Too Good to Go bag from the local garage last Saturday. I saw three bags pop up when we were on the way home from the craft fair, with an immediate pickup time, so decided to grab one hoping there would be something easy for tea as we were both tired. And struck gold with four decent sandwiches, a still hot four cheese toastie, fruit pots, cocktail sausages, two ready meals, actual sausages, yoghurt, bread, and a random cinnamon roll. So no cooking for me that night.
It's Pauline's birthday today, so we're taking her out to lunch tomorrow when James is off. We're also taking my sort of but not legally step-sister to her pre-op first, so it'll be nice to spend time together. Though, the weather forecast is really bad for tomorrow and Pauline is worried about flooding, which is something that often happens at her house due to bad drains. I did offer to still take M to her appointment then take Pauline out later, but she said no, so I suspect we'll just have a fast lunch and will hopefully be home before the rain starts.
