Happy Birthday, Raven!
Aug. 11th, 2006 06:06 pmIt's
joshysleo's special day today.
Raven, I've sucked at writing birthday stories lately, but I've written a little something for you. I hope you enjoy.
Thanks go to
ephemera_pop, who took a ficlet and made it a heck of a lot better.
“Ask.”
Chris throws a look over his shoulder. JC is a shadow against the sun, darkness and light-bleeding lines. Chris narrows his eyes. “It’s not that simple.”
“It’s as complex as you make it.”
JC sits, folding himself down onto the grass. The sun explodes from behind him, searing light. Chris blinks, vision overlaid with colourful spots.
“Why don’t you ask him, then?” Chris asks, rubbing at his tearing eyes.
JC adjusts his sunglasses, runs his hand through his hair, looking thoughtful all the while. Aware of the complexities of JC, Chris amuses himself making his light spots run up and down the leg of JC's pale blue pants, tracking the glittering lines.
“Because it means more coming from you.”
“That’s bull.” His reply is immediate, sharp, and Chris looks at JC, trying to see past the sunglasses. “And dude, these pants suck.”
“I like them.” A faint movement of lashes going down, long fingers plucking at shining sequins. “He won’t be a notch on my bedpost.”
“Don’t.” Chris presses his hand over JC’s, holding it still.
“The past can’t be changed.” JC smiles, a brief curl of his lips, and his fingers move under Chris’ hand.
“Past is past. Now’s different. I’m not a notch.”
“No, you’re not.” JC agrees, he smiles again, a real smile this time. “He won’t be either, but you have to ask.”
“Which again, brings us back to, it isn’t that simple."
“Sure it is. You tell him you have a proposition. That you’ve wanted him for years, and does he want to join you and your extremely sexy boyfriend in a threesome.”
JC sounds perfectly serious, and Chris has to stare. “Sure, I’ll say that. Amp up the deviancy of a threesome with a touch of pervert old man lusting after jailbait. Perfect.”
“There is no deviancy in a threesome.” Cool and collected, and it’s obvious that JC believes every word. “He also passed the jailbait stage years ago. Ask him.”
“What if he says no? Things could get weird.”
“Or he could say, just ask already.”
Chris sighs, tightening his grip on JC’s hand. “Did you know he was there?”
“No.” JC shifts in place. “At least, not at first.”
There’s silence, breathing, the distant sound of trucks and equipment being wheeled into place. Chris inhales, looks up at Lance. “And? What’s your answer?”
Lance doesn't reply straight away. He moves in front of Chris and JC and crouches, methodically brushes at the grass, then sits down. He's leaning back on toned, tanned, bare arms, legs crossed in front of him, a picture of relaxation. “Obviously, I’d say yes."

dude - I just figured out what you ment before - and that's brilliant and should go back in. just with 'light spots' to make it clearer.

Date: 2006-08-11 05:29 pm (UTC)I thought I'd totally confused with the spots, but I've changed it back with the additional word.
You're a star.
Thank you. *smooch*

Date: 2006-08-11 05:31 pm (UTC)I knew Raven's OT3 was JC/Lance/Chris, so knew who to write about. I just wasn't sure what to write about.
Thankfully the idea struck, and doesn't seem to have confused anyone, yet *g*

Date: 2006-08-12 10:32 am (UTC)It's a threesome that would be filled with complexities I think. I just wish I could send stories straight from my head, then I could explore that.
Perfect icon too :)
