I have a pet peeve, and normally I just bitch in mail, but gah.

When someone posts a picture of Lance, and someone comments on his outfit or the way he's standing, by saying 'And he said he was straight!' Just no! Every single member of Nsync wore outfits as outlandish as Lance did. They had stylists, that's what stylists do, put their clients into clothes designed to be noticed. It wasn't Lance's inner gay seeping through his veneer of straightness. Not unless that was happening to the other four too, and as much as I love my imagined thoughts of group sex orgies between them all, that wasn't happening.

Also. Liking him better now because he's gay? Why?! I don't mean respecting him because he came out. I mean, actually thinking he's better because he's gay. Someone explain that to me, because I don't get it.

Okay, I'm done now, and I'm sorry if I offended anyone, but it drives me nuts.

I'm not sure if I agree or disagree. I mean, I do agree but. I like Lance more now - I'm not sure like is the right word, but I respect him much more now that he's out. I loved him fine when he wasn't out, but finally having the balls to come out and be all he is, that was a deal breaker for me, I adore him now. And I guess I feel it's easier for me to identify with him now that he's openly queer, too. So I do agree - he's not any better than anyone else or before, but I like him better.

See, I think this is where I fall down at explaining myself. I totally understand respecting him more now and yeah, that would bleed into liking. My annoyance is more the people who didn't like him before, then found out he slept with men, then immediately stated they liked him now.

Lance is a package deal made up of awesomeness, and his sexuality shouldn't be the only thing that makes you decide if you like him. What he does about his sexuality, how he's open now and handles his life, yeah. Just because of who he sleeps with, no.
