Apr. 1st, 2009 12:03 pmIt's
ephemera's birthday today! Someone who is made of stardust, magic, awesome and win. Also, one of the best friends ever.
Happy birthday, honey. I hope you have an excellent day xoxox
Also on this post of happy.
nopseud wrote me Brian/Eminem, which is right here and the most awesome thing ever!
You should all go read it, marvel and comment, because it's brilliant. Then come back and tell me the out there pairing you wish people would write.
Seriously, what's the weird pairing you really want to read?

I'll finish that damn story one of these days.

Date: 2009-04-01 11:43 am (UTC)That could happen! Easily.
IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE TO ME!
Yes you will. And it'll be awesome.

Are there decoder rings? I tell you, I really have to get that button-making machine - fandom presents one with too many opportunities to make badges.

Or something like that, yeah.
Mikey loves coffee, but Greg is a coffee *snob*. I can just *imagine* the spats over Dunkin Donuts coffee...

Then he'd leave the DD styrofoam cups all over the place, on purpose.
[Ha ha... I can totally see him sending DD coffee-in-a-box and oh, munchkins to the lab. The techs are \o/ about this - Greg does guard his Jamaician Blue Mountain beans kinda viciously - but it makes Greg *seethe*.]

Hmmm. Spencer/Brendon/Greg might just be a maximum of hotness!

Date: 2009-04-01 02:28 pm (UTC)For some reason, this comment made my laugh. And then it hurt my *brain* as it was one too many fandoms crossing streams.
Joss... see, what that story needs is the addition of night club demons. Hahahaha! I'd *love* to see how that would mix in with the Panic and the general Greg awesomeness.
Multi-fandom brain tangents aside... you've got a Brendon/Greg fic??? OOOOOOO! That sounds very shiny. I'd love to see that.
Spencer/Brendon/Greg might just be a maximum of hotness!
Oooooo... yeah. This has the potential for epic established relationship threesome fic. Lots of separation angst and miscommunication and worrying about job and insomnia about plane crashes and bus collisions [and Greg really would like to know when he turned into his *mom*, but he can't help it!]... and lots of kinky hot sex to make up for the anxiety.
Or something like that. :)

Date: 2009-04-01 02:42 pm (UTC)I have a Brendon/Greg *WIP*. I am, unfortunately stymied at date three because I have them fighting after that about Greg hiding some of the nastier things in his past, but Greg didn't see it as hiding, and it is all this big misunderstanding, and I don't want to write it because I want them to be puppies and sunshine. Sorry to say it isn't ready for prime time, and I don't know when it will be. I sometimes get around to my WIPs, but it can be months (if not a year) later.
I like your Brendon/Spencer/Greg ideas! They are so sweet even if Greg is turning into his Mom!

Date: 2009-04-01 04:16 pm (UTC):D The question is, what do you add? The world perimeters? That would be fun, adding demon strip clubs and vampires dressing up as Elvis. The people? I can see the Angel crew ending up there - esp. since they *did* go to Vegas, to help Lorne. Faith is always fun...
Oh, I understand about WiPs and the desire to skip over plot points to get to the personally shiny stuff. I have a tendency to write scenes as they come, so end up with gaps. Right now, both my major WiPs are wallowing in the woe... and it's only going to get worst, before I get to my own sunshine and puppies. :P Anyhoo... Just so you know - I'm looking forward to writing this Brendon/Greg bit o' marvelousness. *shakes the pom poms*
I like your Brendon/Spencer/Greg ideas! They are so sweet even if Greg is turning into his Mom!

It's apparently his coping mechanism for dating rock stars. He is *quoting statistics* about travel accidents in the break room! It's completely out of hand.

Date: 2009-04-01 12:24 pm (UTC)To go with the Greg theme... Greg Sanders/Mikey Way. Pete's involved in those shenanigans, somehow.
Weird pairings...in general, I want more Jossverse and HP crossovers with MCR. How about Bill Weasley/Bob Bryar? Someone -

Date: 2009-04-01 12:34 pm (UTC)Greg/Mikey. YES! I love that idea. Especially with Pete involved, which he would be. I'm having vague memories of doing some kind of tiny ficlet thing which had MCR within the CSI universe. I swear, my mind is going.
Anyway, it would be awesome. Their house would be a coffee lovers paradise.
Frank/Oz, that is so pretty and energetic. Bill Weasley/Bob, wow. It actually makes sense while also making me boggle at the thought.

Date: 2009-04-01 01:30 pm (UTC)Greg/Mikey... yeah, I thought you'd like that. ;D
I'm thinking about how that's got wide potential - clubbing PWP, some *serious* h/c,[putting say Greg post lab explosion with Mikey post Paramour...], or straight out schmoop. O! O! How about crossing sekrit!spy Mikeyway with interpid!rookie CSI Greggo - this is my favorite so far, as it can have rescues from the Bad Guys, car chases and maybe some explosions.
Moving on...
I'm having vague memories of doing some kind of tiny ficlet thing which had MCR within the CSI universe.
Tiny is right - this was one of the one liners you did for that genre meme. We talked about how it was destined to be angst and woe-full if it was expanded on.
Why has no one written MCR as gangsters in Vegas? [Gerard had to leave Jersey, see, and of course Mikey wasn't going to let him go alone.]
Their house would be a coffee lovers paradise.
Ahahaha! I might have to write a bit of coffee domestic schmoop.
Frank/Oz, that is so pretty and energetic. Yes, it really is. :) Teeny guitarist PWP! [Well, that's what I've seen written - van sex and dirty venue bathroom sex. I'd like to see some other takes on this.]
Bill Weasley/Bob, wow. It actually makes sense while also making me boggle at the thought.
This is *deeply* self-indulgent, but might also be the secret pairing of my HEART.
[I like this game.:D]

Date: 2009-04-01 02:44 pm (UTC)You know me so well, which is why I'll admit when you said clubbing AU my thoughts went, she wants a fic where someone gets clubbed? Awesome!
GAH! My head is so full of your suggestions I can hardly type.
Serious h/c. YES! Schmoop. YES!
sekrit!spy Mikeyway with interpid!rookie CSI Greggo
YEEESSSS! I love smart Mikey and I can imagine him all casual, observing people and rookie Greggo catches his eye. OH! Can they be captured and Greg works his magic to make a small bomb and in the resulting chaos, smoke filling the air and people shooting wildly he grabs Mikey's hand and just runs.
Tiny is right - this was one of the one liners you did for that genre meme. We talked about how it was destined to be angst and woe-full if it was expanded on.
Ha! You have a good memory, and it would have been so angsty. Death all around.
Ahahaha! I might have to write a bit of coffee domestic schmoop.
Do it!
There could be fic where Oz has left his home and is all sad and Frank takes him in and is just there with his dogs and his food and helps Oz by ignoring him until he's ready to talk.
This is *deeply* self-indulgent, but might also be the secret pairing of my HEART.
So tell me about it. What happens?

Date: 2009-04-02 01:52 am (UTC)Um... the muses gave me mostly canon Bob. But there's more to come...
It would be logical to assume that they meet in Europe. London would make the most sense - maybe in a pub, after a show. Bob would be exhausted, getting to the end of his bandsitting duties for the day. He would slump against the bar, elbows heavy. Bob sees the curve of defeated shoulders nearby and can't help but stare. Bright red hair bound back in twists of leather offer a touch of the exotic. He stares at a freckled neck, at scars on slender hands. He feels the itch on his own skin, under exhaustion. It's easy, calling a couple of shots to the bar, gaining a flame blue glance, full of spectulation.
That assumption has the pair of them fucking in the bathroom two hours later. It won't settle anything in Bob's chest. There's a restless in the redhead's eyes that echoes his own. Bob buys him another pint, after.
He sees him again, a year later, in Dublin. They trade smiles and names then.
~~~
France is another plausible point of convergence. Bob would be leaning up against an alley wall, smoking alone, relishing the silence after a show, when a stranger appears. It's very film noir, this assumption, full of velvety shadows and fog and mystery. It's possible that Bob's watched too many late night movies, dubbed badly in foreign tongues; his imagination would lay things out in black and white. Which is why this stranger stands out - it’s that hair, all fire and vibrancy even at three in the morning, that draws his attention. He asks Bob for a cigarette. They lean on brick and talk about the city, the show and finally, about movies. This guy - Bill - calls them moving pictures, his odd inflection pulling a grin from Bob. But Bob doesn't tease - which is weird, but he listens to that inner reluctance. It feels a little like respect. They share tobacco and talk until no words are left.
Bob finds a slip of paper tucked in the cellophane of his smokes the next morning. It's weird paper, heavy and cream-colored. Written in bold blue is 'I still say 'On the Waterfront' signed with a letter B and a phone number. Bob grins and pulls out his phone to text 'And I still say ur full of shit.'
The reply is almost instantaneous. 'That’s shite, you.'
This would be the start of a beautiful friendship.
~~~
Even Germany makes sense.
Bob steps out of a venue and is almost run over.
"Sorry, sorry" his assailant says, voice thick with a British prep school accent . Bob winces, rubs his knee - he knocked it against aging bricks when he reached out to end un-expected flight. Bright blue eyes stared up at him.
"Hide me?"
Bob grunts, and pulls the stranger back behind him, into the shadows of the doorway. He lights a cigarette and fills the doorway as best he can. His knee throbs. Not ten seconds later, three guys in odd clothes step into the alley. There's something their stupid Ren faire robes can't mask that makes the hair stand up on the back of Bob's neck. Danger, a voice whispers in the back of Bob's mind. He settles his shoulders across the doorway.
The trio ask after a tall redhead and Bob plays dumb. They call him Muggle and he can tell it's an insult, but just narrows his eyes, says nothing. They glare at him, then leave. It's easier to breathe then.
The stranger is grateful, slender fingers heavy on Bob's shoulder.
"What was that about?" Bob says.
The redhead shrugs in reply, a grin easy on his face. "I have something they want and I don't want them to have it."
Bob hums, snubs out his cigarette. "Did you steal it?"
"Not from them."
"Okay."
"Thanks."
There's a sudden press of warm lips against his own. Bob gasps... and the man is gone. Vanishing into thin air.
He retreats to the van, curls up around Frankie and wills the smaller man to health.
In the morning, Bob finds a business card tucked into the pocket of his hoodie. It has no name, just a number.
In England he finds a pay phone. After a solid ten minutes of staring at the numbers, Bob dials.
~~~
But those are all assumptions. None of these possibilities show how they *actually* met.
Date: 2009-04-02 03:54 pm (UTC)The Bob! *flails* issues is still ongoing I hope you know.
Those are all so awesome.
>>>He stares at a freckled neck, at scars on slender hands. He feels the itch on his own skin, under exhaustion. It's easy, calling a couple of shots to the bar, gaining a flame blue glance, full of spectulation.
You have to get tired of me repeating it, but your way of setting a scene is amazing. I love how they're drawn together, how they're both so tired and how despite that first meeting is so hot and heavy in some ways, there's also that sense of time as they don't exchange names for a year later.
>>>But Bob doesn't tease - which is weird, but he listens to that inner reluctance. It feels a little like respect. They share tobacco and talk until no words are left.
I imagine words are important to Bob, that he spends that time, keeps talking, well it just shows how strong that connection is.
>>>Danger, a voice whispers in the back of Bob's mind. He settles his shoulders across the doorway.
Bob! He's so naturally instinctive, and such a great protector.
Date: 2009-04-03 05:24 pm (UTC):D Good to know. I feel like Bob flails should be ongoing, though.
It's taken me a while to reply to this, as every time I open a tab to reply, I re-read your comment and overcome with glee. Eee! I'm so glad you like the rambles.
I honestly doubt I'll ever get tired of hearing that a piece of writing *works* for you, Terri. :) That's the sort of thing that keeps a gal banging away on the keys. Thank you.
I imagine words are important to Bob, that he spends that time, keeps talking, well it just shows how strong that connection is.
I admit, this section's my favorite, and not just because I got to mangle a Bogart quote at the end. I like the idea of the relationship spooling out through words - because yeah, you're right, words are important to Bob and they can bridge a lot of distance here. [I also feel like this section's kinda romantic, because I'm apparently a sap for meandering conversations on foggy evenings.]
Bob! He's so naturally instinctive, and such a great protector.
I know, right? Good thing he also knows when to keep his mouth shut - it's doubtful that those robed dudes would simply leave a frog!Bob behind if he *really* drew attention to himself.
Such a tease!
but a tease that puts out eventually.
[I'm too interested in the possibilities to quit *now*.]
Date: 2009-04-04 02:35 pm (UTC)The first is perhaps the one that hints the least to who Bill is and this sentence is so sad, It won't settle anything in Bob's chest, though the end not is more optimistic.
The second is so full of budding friendship and well, warmth, despite the foggy night. This is the essence of this bit to me, They share tobacco and talk until no words are left.
For all the shared danger the third one has the least "connect-y" feeling between them to me. It's there but very muted somehow.
Can I count Brian/Kevin? Because, seriously. I threw myself so hard into cheerleading JM's MtYG story that I managed to give myself a craving for more, and yet rocking-horse dropping are *nothing* on the rarity of Brian/Kevin. JM's was the first ever in the history of SeSa.
When I finish the Cambridge!sync AU, I want someone to write me First World War era Chris/Peter Wimsey.
Hmm. I'm sure I have more. I'll be back!
A detective story for Chris/Peter Wimsey?
A spy story! They would be doing intelligence work behind enemy lines. Hmm...actually, they would be rescuing David, a French intelligence officer who goes on to be Chris's boyfriend and then dies tragically of the Spanish flu after surviving the War. But before Chris meets him, there would be hot Chris/Peter spy action, oh yes! A fleeting moment of sweetness 'midst the horrors of war.
That would be triffic, indeed.
When would you set it, though?
no subject
Date: 2009-04-01 04:25 pm (UTC)You have any ideas? :D
no subject
Date: 2009-04-01 04:48 pm (UTC)Pre-2002 would make the JC/Justin part easier, but then we're pre-rehab AJ and everyone is working and touring really hard all the time. More recent era would maybe be more symmetrical, as they have more equal amounts of contact with one another, JC is occasionally working with AJ and Justin, everyone is living in LA, etc.
If I were writing it, I think I'd have JC sleeping with both Justin and AJ on a pretty casual basis, then either Justin or AJ wanting his relationship with JC to be more serious, and JC explaining that it's like a pair of scales, your can't make one side heavier and keep it balanced. So then AJ or Justin would approach the other one to say, okay, this is a rather weird question but would *you* be willing to get more serious with JC, because I want to? Hmm...Justin being the one wanting to get serious, first, I think.
Of course, it would then become even more complicated because *JC* didn't really want to get serious (at first), he was just saying it because he likes the status quo and he was pretty sure the whole I-must-have-balance thing would stop any talk of serious relationships.
