Following a link I've been reading this blog about someone's experiment to be a 50's housewife for a fortnight. I'm only a few days in and know that it's good that I wasn't a housewife in the 50's, because I would have ended up punching someone in the face. Getting prettied up before you even make coffee in the morning. What is this madness?

A few days ago our kettle stopped working. After terrible moments contemplating a life without tea, coffee and hot chocolate, we bought a new one. The old one was still under warranty, and this morning it was picked up by a courier. It was wrapped in bin bags tapped down with medical tape and a cable tie. The label was stuck on with more medical tape and made out of an old scrap of cardboard. We are the classiest ever.

lumikki_fee posted pictures of Mikey from a concert here. I can't seem to stop looking at the one from the after show signing, also, reading concert reports, this picture here. Look at that profile and smile ♥

Staying on the subject of Mikey, I'm pleased to see that the threesome with Pete and Gabe has been agreed, but mostly what I've been thinking about is how he tends to take pictures of things, like the signs for My Chem dressing rooms. I like to think he takes pictures like that all the time. The first concert when they came back, hiding side stage and taking a picture of the crowd. The empty box that used to contain the dye Gerard used on his hair, and maybe the dark strands lying on the floor from when it was cut. Two baby wrist bands on Frank's open hand, So many memories captured in picture form.

I think I've mentioned that crowgirl13 provides an informal, friendly place to chat about creative stuff done in November, and yesterday she did a comment fic free for all which resulted in some great stuff. My own contribution was a scrap of Ray centric gsf but there was also so incredible other stuff. Frank centric, Mikey centric, Mikey/Pete, Ray centric as well as responses away from MCR. I do recommend you go read, because T has some insanely talented people on her flist.

And now I'm going to make tea, because we've been out and now I'm hungry.

I would make a horrible 50s housewife too. She linked to some guide from that time that said husbands should also pitch in by hanging up their coats and maybe doing the dishes every now and then. Poor dears, their lives must have been so hard.

Well, I do have to make breakfast for others, but it doesn't mean I enjoy doing so. And it's never anything more complicated than throwing toast or crumpets into the toaster *g*

Whoa, that blog is insane! And even more insane is apparently the grief she's taking from "feminist" blogs for doing the experiment. Seriously! People should be taught about sarcasm and irony and nuance ... Then again, this is the internet, I don't even know why I'm surprised! *sigh*

Yeah. I wish I could be surprised at the grief she's getting. I was boggling at the things she was supposed to do but it never crossed my mind to take it too seriously. Simply because she wasn't either.

The threesome makes so much sense, and also makes me happy to think about, because talk about three people who are so similar in many ways but couldn't be more different in others.

I'd like to think there'll be teasing going on, with Pete and Gabe saying how their bands are only small fry compared to rock star Way. And they could ask for his autograph and pretend to be groupies and generally amuse themselves with that until Mikey shuts them up by walking away to the bedroom and saying he's off to have sex now, with or without them.

Considering the twit pics Mikey has shared I do suspect he takes many more, and of a more personal nature. I think he should make his own scrap book, but with a Way slant. Hand-drawn comic strips on the pages next to the photos, coffee stains and tiny hand prints next to those of a cat.

I loved your post so much! And I still have things to read. I like that so many different kinds of fic were posted, though I have to admit. A certain response nearly killed me ded this morning *g*

If my kettle broke I would be bereft! I mean, I can live without central heating and I can live without a working oven (lol what is my life?!) but live without a kettle? Not acceptable. I fully understand the urge to replace asap.

I maybe gleefaced a little when Gabe replied to Mikey earlier. It turns out I'm juuust a little bit overinvested in the Pete/Mikey/Gabe OT3 of awesomeness. Who knew!?

I absolutely LOVE the idea of Mikey and his picture taking. I would read a million and one words of that. (also it adds another random reason for why he and Jon should be sent on their blind date \o/)

Pete/Mikey/Gabe is an amazing threesome. Also, all kinds of fucked up if you go back in time. Which is a draw I have to admit.

Yes, they need that blind date. Then Jon can gives tips, in a very gentle Jon like way where he doesn't want to say Mikey's pictures are bad, but they could be better and he explains all sorts of interesting things, and takes example pictures. Which Mikey loves, but he still takes his own slightly out of focus shot of Jon's feet under the table.

I had about half a fic written like that for Waycest... they're not allowed to acknowledge it at all, so instead Mikey and Gerard have a photo album of seemingly random pictures, like slides and the cap of a marker, but really the slide is where they kissed for the first time and Gerard used that marker to write words of love all over Mikey, before he had to shower and wash it all away.

THE WAY THE THREE OF THEM KEEP ON CONFIRMING MY OT3 IS AMAZING. I cannot stop being gleeful about it. I will never stop being gleeful about it.

I've now spent a good forty minutes reading that blog and I asked my mom about parts of it (she was born in '53)--she actually ate those gelatin mold things Jen posted pictures of. I'm shuddering just imagining it. Was a great read though!

Those gelatin molds looked disgusting! I was reading the one with the peas, olives and mayo and wanted to heave :(

But yeah, I enjoyed the blog a lot.
