We've been to see The Bodyguard at the theatre tonight and it was great. I especially enjoyed getting up and dancing at the end. We went with Kayleigh and her girlfriend Lucy, though didn't sit together as we need aisle end seats and they didn't so could sit further forward. But, we all enjoyed it a lot, and Alexandra Burke was fantastic in one of the lead roles.

Though, at one point I was considering not going as today has been a day. Milo started drooling big time last night, like, columns of thick drool coming out of his mouth. I got really worried this morning and thankfully the vets could squeeze him in. They think he's either licked something he shouldn't have or has some kind of gastric issue, both of which apparently make cats drool. He's had anti-sickness meds, painkillers and we have to give him two kinds of painkiller and an anti-acid at home and we have to take him back on Wednesday if it doesn't get better. He's eating and drinking fine, it's just all this drool that's the issue. Plus, when they did blood tests they found not only did he have kidney issues like Tinker, but his liver levels were off too. But, at least his thyroid was fine so that was good.

I'm trying not to think of the bill created by two cats needing regular visits because, man. It's already high enough.

Because of the drool issue and James being on late shift I didn't get much sleep last night and had to be up early to phone the vets. Then we needed to drive to Newcastle for James' next counselling session and at that point, I was done. Just wanted to finish that and go home, but I'm glad I didn't because the show was great.

Now though, I'm drooping and am about to crawl into bed once Milo's finished eating and I can give him his last painkiller.

Cats, man. It's good we love them so much.

glad you enjoyed the show - even if you were dragging, it's good you made the effort

Oof. /o\ I hope Milo improves soon! Having vet bills is not fun, and neither is having sick kitties to worry about.

Wow, you and your cats have had the worst luck lately with needing the vet! I hope Milo gets whatever is causing the drool out of his system soon.

And it sounds good that you did get to enjoy the show despite everything else.

Oh dear, I hope Milo's okay! Our cat was not responding to the arthritis shots so after blood tests to check kidney function (which was fine but liver function not so great) he went on a new (oral) painkiller - which worked! He was doing great! … until the vomiting started. So we'll see how he goes with a smaller dose?

Ah, pets.

Oh, I hope Milo gets better soon! They're not exactly communicative when it comes to their ailments and if they were we wouldn't have to run up big vet bills. Ouch!

Oh man, kitties, stop giving your mum a hard time! A few years back Commander was playing with a glow stick and like cats are wont to do, bit into it. THE AMOUNT OF DROOL ONE CAT CAN PRODUCE!!! Apparently bitter things make cats drool uncontrollably and the liquid in glowsticks, whilst harmless, is *really* bitter. Panic attack and a call to the vet later he was already doing better but goddamn, I was scrubbing that thick, slimy drool off of carpets, walls, the sofa... never again.

I hope Milo feels heaps better and that you got some rest. <3

Sounds like you'd a fun night at the theatre, yay!

Poor Milo!! I see from comments that he's better again now which must be a great relief. Too bad about his kidney and liver issues but now he can at least get proper meds which will hopefully let him live a much longer and happier life than if he'd gone undiagnosed. (Though every time you write about your kitties health problems I start to worry about Lancecat. He seems disgustingly healthy but you never know. Next time he's getting his yearly shots I think I'm going to ask them to do a blood test too just to be on the safe side.)
