I think my computer was out to drive me insane this weekend. [livejournal.com profile] chrism helped me sort out my virtual memory problem but everything else seemed to act up to make up for that. The most annoying of which was when Azureus wouldn't connect so I could download Numb3rs on Friday. I was so pissed I tell you, that's the last time I update the damn thing when prompted. Thankfully I remembered that [livejournal.com profile] _bettina_ had the same problem so I went to see what she did, which was an uninstall and redownload of an earlier version. Which I did; eventually. When I could finally find and completely download the right file, which believe me was more difficult than it should have been. Then winamp needed updating and codecs installed which meant a reboot in which I forgot to shut down some stuff I wanted to save and of course it's gone now....sigh. Now all I have to do is find out why I'm getting slammed with viruses. Norton is catching them but my main address is getting hit almost 100 times a day, on Saturday I had over 50 from a Britney Spears fansite address alone. Though that did amuse me I have to admit. Oh well, at least I got Numb3rs in the end.

Kayleigh has gone on holiday today to Butlins with her friends. James is driving them down and they'll meet Lia there. He's staying overnight in Kay and Lia's chalet then coming back tomorrow and man, I want to go. Though no, as much as I want to go I wish Corey could have gone more. He looked so down this morning as he got ready for school but there's no way he can stay off in school time, especially as it's SATs this week. So I'm down to one boy until tomorrow :(

Now as I've been tagged by a few people for this now, .

1) Total number of films I own on DVD/Video: Not that many really, less than 50 I'm sure. I like movies but prefer tv and reading.

The last film I bought: I honestly can't remember.

3) The last film I watched: On the Line.

4) Five films that I watch a lot or mean a lot to me: I suck at this meme so much. Erm, I love Dirty Dancing, mainly for the memories as the best friend and I sneaked in to see it on it's release despite being underaged. I love the film too of course, 'no one puts Baby in the corner' cheesy goodness. Youngblood, I love hockey films. You always know what'll happen but still, when he scores the winning I goal I can't help cheering. Lost Boys. Keifer, the Coreys, Jason Patric, vampires. What's not to love? The X Men movies. It's the X Men, what can I say? Stand by Me. It's such a beautiful, sad, touching film that's a huge part of when I was growing up.

Before I go, GIP. [livejournal.com profile] digital_diva made me this most gorgeous icon of my BSB OTP. Isn't it beautiful?

*GRR* Freaking Virus Emails...

Glad I'm not the only one being driven crazy by this.

The virus emails are because someone with the virus has you in their address book or in their internet cache or on their comp somewhere - I'm getting it, too, on two or three different addies that I barely even use anymore.

Don't even bother trying to sort it out based on the addy that supposedly sent the email - it's almost never the one that actually did.

Nothing you can do but wait it out, I'm afraid - it'll die down soon. Until then, at least it's my Hotmail accounts, and the junk filters catch it all...

I know this sounds bad but I'm glad I'm not the only one. This last week has been insane and it's annoying the hell out of me now. I'm not worried that I'll get infected by them as Norton is dealing with every one but I still end up with an in box jammed with stripped mails that hide all the real stuff.

I will wait but man, I smite the people who think releasing viruses is funny.

Oh, no, it's definitely not just you. It's been crazy at work, everyone's getting slammed with the virus emails from outside--our firewall software cleans off the viruses, but the emails pour in.

Everyone's fussing at me to 'fix it'. *snerk* Dude, if I had that kind of power over the internet, I'd have a job that paid a hell of a lot more than I'm makin' now, that's all I can say.

Heh - no lie. I think I hit upward of 200 of those suckers on one (ironically never-really-used-at-all) addy alone - yeesh.

And no lie about the better-paying job if you could fix it.

It amazes me that anyone thinks you can actually fix mails coming in like that. They're annoying as hell but I know there's nothing that can stop them.

Shame you couldn't fix it, you'd be a millionaire ;)
