Okay. As someone who saw their first episode of Dr. Who this week... (and, I think that we're behind where you are, but that's okay, for a show you've only seen on episode of, it's hard to be spoiled)... does John Barrowman have a purpose on that show other than flitting around and being rather gay? Just curious. *g*

But seriously, he's the Doc's right hand man of sorts. He's fabulous with a gun (and oh, the places he keeps them) and he's allowed to fiddle around inside the TARDIS. Rose, bless her, is a little incompetent at anything other than crying and getting herself lost, so he needs someone else there to help him out. Cap'n Jack is that person.

I mean, *I* wasn't in charge of the casting, so I figured he probably had another purpose other than just standing there and being really, really pretty. Because, that's good enough for me, but I figured there must be at least one other motivation for his character.

Frankly hon, consdering that Russel T Davies was involved with the casting, it was always possible that flitting around flirting and being really really pretty was going to be all of his character motivation. However, because Mr Davies was also involded with teh plot, he gets to be FANTASTIC as well *g*

I think Charlie pretty much filled you in, but yes, he turns into the Dr's right hand man, there to watch his back and work on the tardis and be all around fabulous.

But really, flitting around and being rather gay would have been enough for me ;)
